Day 1 Xian Arrival

Attractions: Xian City Wall

Our guide will pick you up when you arrive at Xian train station or airport. You will find the guide is waiting for you at the exit. When you meet, the guide and driver will drive you back to the hotel and help you to check in. after a short rest, pay a visit to City Wall which is the best-preserved city wall in China. It will be an unforgettable experience to rent a bike riding around the city on the wall. Then back to hotel.

Day 2 Xian

Attractions: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda(Breakfast+Lunch)

Today we will have a full and interesting trip in Xian, visiting 2 spots all together. In the morning, we will begin our trip at the world’s eighth wonder- the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. A delicious a la carte lunch at the best local restaurant will be prepared for you. After the lunch, we will drive back to Xian to visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the seven-story pagoda has witnessed much changes and development of Xian in the past 1,300 years.

Day 3 Xian-Jiayuguan by Flight

Attractions: The Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square, Muslim Quarter, Grand Mosque (Breakfast+Lunch)

In the morning pick up from hotel lobby and transfer to visit the Bell Tower& Drum Tower Square to have an outer look of the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower. Next we will move to Muslim Quarter, the best known food street in Xian where you will meet lots of interesting little objects. Last pay a visit to Grand Mosque, the largest prayer place of Muslim people in Xian. After that our driver and guide will escort you to airport for flight to Jiayuguan. Our local guide and driver in Jiayuguan will meet you at airport and escort you to local hotel.

Day 4 Jiayuguan

Attractions: Jiayuguan Pass, First Fire Tower of Great Wall, Weijin Art Gallery (Breakfast+Lunch)

In the morning the guide will pick you up from hotel lobby and start todays tour with Jiayuguan Pass which lies at the west end of Hexi Corridor and used to be the crucial path of ancient Silk Road. Another highlight here is the First Fire Tower of Great Wall. Next we will pay a visit to Weijin Art Gallery (Tomb groups from the Wei and the Jin Period). The tomb got its name due to the large number of murals on brick tomb walls underground.

Day 5 Jiayuguan-Dunhuang

Attractions: Echoing-Sand Mountain, Crescent Lake(Breakfast+Lunch)

Today we will visit one of the most famous attractions along the Silk Road- the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. A short camel ride (optional) will leave you an unforgettable memory. Riding along the mountain to reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert. It has not dried up over the past one thousand years and still gushes with fresh current.

Day 6 Dunhuang-Turpan

Attractions: Dunhuang Museum, Mogao Grottoes(Breakfast+Lunch)

Our local driver and guide will pick you up from train station and then you will travel to the famous Mogao Grottoes which display a very colorful and descriptive world in the paintings. It is known as one of the four most famous caves in China. Next pay a visit to Dunhuang Museum to see the historical relics in Dunhuang and rare cultural relics collected from Mogao Grottoes. Then the guide and the driver will escort you to train station to take the overnight train to Turpan.

Day 7 Turpan

Attractions: Jiaohe Ruins, Karez Well, Sugong Pagoda(Breakfast+Lunch)

Today after train station pick up we are going to visit three famous places. In the morning, you will have an exploration of Jiaohe Ruins, which is one of the most important towns along the ancient Silk Road. It is also the largest, oldest and best-preserved earth construction in the world. Although 2,000 years have passed, the former brilliants of Jiaohe can still be found from the ruins. Then you will visit the well-known Karez Well, the gigantic underground irrigation system created by ancient Xinjiang people. There are over 1,100 Karez Wells in Turpan, providing precious water source to this dry and hot area during the past 400 years. The last stop of today will be the existed largest ancient pagoda in Xinjiang, Sugong Pagoda. The pagoda is a 44-meter-high (144 feet) Islamic pagoda, which bears a history of over 200 years.

Day 8 Turpan-Kashgar by Flight

Attractions: Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave, Gaochang Ruins, Flaming Hill(Breakfast+Lunch)

Today we will visit four famous sites all together. First is another famous ruin in Turpan, Gaochang Ruins, which used to be the capital of ancient Gaochang Kingdom. Then you will go to the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave, a series of caves with thousands of Buddhism murals. The vivid murals show many Buddhism figures, stories, and the social life about 1,000 years ago in Ancient Gaochang Kingdom. The last stop will be the hottest place in China– the Flaming Hill, situated at the north of ancient Silk Road. The temperature is so high that nothing grows on the hill. And then take the flight to Kashgar. Our guide and driver in Kashgar will pick you up from airport and escort to hotel.

Gaochang Ruins

Day 9 Kashgar-Urumqi by Flight

Attractions: Sunday Market, Id Kah Mosque, Abakh Khoja Tomb(Breakfast+Lunch)

The local guide in Kashgar will wait you at airport and then visit the famous Sunday Market, namely Sunday Bazaar, which used to be the largest international trade market in northwest China. Traders at home and abroad come to exchange all kinds of goods, such as Silk, salt, fur, perfume, ivory. Next we will visit the Id Kah Mosque, a typical Islamic architecture like domes, minarets and arches, as well as pious prayers. It has a 500 years history. The last stop in Kashgar will be the Abakh Khoja Tomb, which is an ancient Islamic building complex and a cemetery. Five generations of a famous Islamic master were buried here. It is considered as the largest dome architecture in the east of the cemetery.

After breakfast at the hotel, you may have all your belongings and luggage packed, check out of the hotel by yourself. Our guide and driver will drive you to the airport and help you to get the boarding pass. Service ends here.

Lunch is chosen at restaurant which is popular among locals, and with good environment.
