  1. Day 1: Xian Arrival (no meal )

    Upon your arrival at Xian airport/train station, our local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name and transfer to downtown hotel for checking-in. Free and easy on your arrangement for rest of the day.

  2. Day 2: Xian
    Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Ancient City Wall, Bell and Drum Tower Square, Muslim Quarter ( B )

    AM: Your Xian exploration begins with world’s heritage Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Known as “the Eighth Wonders of the World”, it was found by four local farmers while drilling a well in 1974. Now it has turned into one of the most important attractions in China and the No.1 attractive site in Xi’an. The museum includes Pit 1(the largest pit), Pit 2, Pit 3, and the exhibition hall of the chariots and horses. You will stay in the museum for 2-3 hours. Listening to the explanation from the expert tour guide, you will learn the hidden story of those live-sized sculptures and history of their owner: First Emperor of Qin who is also the first emperor of China.

    Noon: Lunch on your own.

    Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then head back to Xian downtown area for another historical highlight- Ancient City Wall. It is the most complete preserved and the largest city wall in China, which was built for the military defense in the ancient time. Since it is cycling the city, visitors can ride a bike around the city wall ( optional).

    Next, head to Bell and Drum Tower Square, which locates in the very center of the city and is considered as the symbol of this old capital. Walking forward, you will come to Muslim Quarter where you will find many special local products and authentic local snacks. You can enjoy preserved meat, casserole, various noodles, and purchase some Terracotta Warriors imitation as souvenirs.

  3. Day 3: Xian - Mt.Huashan - Xian by Car
    Mt.Huashan ( B )

    AM: Mt.Huashan is famous as one of the “Five Great Mountains” in China and especially earns its fame as “the most dangerous and thrilling mountain”, attracting endless travelers from the corner of the world. Today, you will explore it by taking the round way north cable car.

    After 2 hours’ driving, you will arrive at the Mount. Huashan. First, take a cable car up the North Peak where you will start your own hiking. The guide will leave you to freely explore the mountain. On the top of the mountain, there are several spots such as Taoist temples, sculptures and engravings. You will enjoy yourself so much on the 4 peaks. After you reach the Golden Lock Pass, you can buy a golden lock and lock it on the iron chains. Visitors usually do this to pray for safety and health. It must be marvelous scenery with thousands of golden locks on the iron chains.

    On the Middle Peak (Jade Maiden Peak), you can immerse in its supernatural atmosphere, seeing the sea of clouds roaring before your eyes and imagining if immortals are living there. Then you will move on to the East Peak, the South peak and the West Peak. You can breathe the fresh air on the Mount Huashan!

    Noon: You are suggested to prepare some food/snack for lunch since there is no restaurant on the mountain.

    PM: Finally please come back to the North Peak to take the return way cable car to the foot of the mountain where the tour guide will be waiting for you. At about 17:00, meet your guide and driver to drive back to your hotel.

  4. Day 4: Xian - Nyingchi by Flight
    Cypress Tree Reserve, Bayi Town ( B )

    AM: In the morning, our driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby and transfer to the airport for your flight to Nyingchi. Upon arrival at Nyingchi, our local English speaking guide and driver will be waiting for you at the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name.

    Noon: Lunch on your own.

    PM: After lunch,  follow your guide to explore the famous Cypress Tree Reserve. The giant cypress wood here gains the title of “King of the Cypress in the World” since it has more than 25oo years old and nearly 50 meters tall. You can imagine how gigantic and old those cypresses are with only the title.

    Last, drive to Bayi Town for overnight. Bayi Town is the core and prosperous downtown of the Nyingchi Area. Nowadays, it’s a modern town with convenient daily amenities including hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, gas stations and so on, greeting passengers from Tibet or Sichuan for replenishment. The town itself is fascinating and less-crowded, standing on the plateau peacefully.

  5. Day 5: Nyingchi
    Sekyim la Pass, Mt. Namjia Bawa, Lulang Forest ( B )

    AM: Today, you’ll drive to the beautiful Lulang Forest. On the way, make the first stop at Sekyim la Pass (4728m), which is a famous landmark on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway with a location at the southeast of Bayi Town, Nyingchi Area. The pass is about 4728 meters over the sea level. Here you would overlook the Lulang Forest and Namche Barwa Peak as well as take pictures.

    Noon: Lunch on your own.

    PM: Have a far view of Mt. Namjia Bawa (7,700m), you’ll arrive at Lulang Forest, which lies along the famous Sichuan-Tibet Highway, at the Lulang Town, Nyingchi Area. Benefit by the Indian Ocean moisture pouring into Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, the trees root in the perfect soil here and expand to a green sea finally. Usually, the best time to get the perfect view of the forest is from the late spring to early autumn when the trees are in beautiful green. However, someone especially like its appearance in winter when show falling. The trees stand erectly like an army group, showing overwhelming power to crush everything.

    Finish the sightseeing, drive around 1 hour back to Bayi town.

  6. Day 6: Nyingchi - Lhasa by Car
    Basomtso Lake, Mira Mountain ( B )

    After breakfast, check out the hotel and head to Lhasa. Firstly, drive around 2 hours to today’s highlight -Basomtso Lake, which is hailed as “Small Swedish” due to its paradise-on-earth-like scenery which collects snowy mountains, lakes, forests, waterfall, pastures and historical relics together. Those beautiful scenes have been attracting endless travelers to be here, let alone its changeable pretty appearance in different seasons and abundant wild flora and fauna. Travelers usually appreciate the beauty here by viewing some main scenic spots which demonstrate the gorgeous charm of noble Baksumtso Lake.

    On the way, you’ll also take a look at Mira Mountain, which lies on the boundary of Lhasa and Nyingchi, not only geographically distinguishing the Lhasa River Basin and Niyang River Basin but also the Inland climate of Lhasa and oceanic climate of Nyingchi. Miraculously, the landscapes on the east side and west side of Mira Mountain Pass look totally different: dry and desolate on the west while verdant and thick wood on the east.

  7. Day 7: Lhasa
    Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street ( B )

    AM: The imposing Potala Palace is the highlight of any trip to Tibet. Today you are going to visit this majestic architectural treasure of Lhasa, over 3,700 meters above sea level. The whole architectural complex includes two parts, the White Palace and the Red Palace. The White Palace is the place where the Dalai Lamas lived and handled political affairs, while the Red Palace mainly houses the stupas of the Dalai Lamas. Your tour guide will share a wealth of information with you to help you understand its history and Tibetan Buddhism.

    Noon: Lunch on your own.

    PM: After that, continue to explore the holy Jokhang Temple which has a history of over 1300 years. The temple is a mixture of Tibetan, Tang, Nepalese, and Indian architectural styles and has become an example of Tibetan religious architecture. The interior is so impressive with plenty of statues, colorful murals, and rows of butter lamps. It’s not allowed to take photos in most parts, but you will have the opportunity to take some on the rooftop.

    After coming out of the sacred Jokhang Temple, you will follow your tour guide threading your way through the throngs of pilgrims and other travelers in the mesmerizing Barkhor Street. This old street will give you a taste of Tibetan people's life and their faith. You can casually walk around and do some shopping.

  8. Day 8: Lhasa- Gyantse - Shigatse by Car, 360km, Approx 6hrs
    Yamdroktso Lake, Karola Glacier, Manla Reservoir, Penchor Chode Monastery, Penchor Chode Pagoda ( B )

    AM: Today’s first stop will be the charming Yamdroktso Lake, one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. It is famed as “the Most Beautiful Lake in the World”. When looking at it from a map or sky, you will be surprised to see the lake embedded in this land, glittering like an earring under the sunshine at different times.

    Noon: Lunch on your own.

    PM: After that, drive to the Karola Glacier with an elevation of 5400 meters above sea level. Getting off the car, the magnificent glacier jumps into your eyes with its shinning body soaked in the gentle sunshine. You are worry-free from people or cars intruding into your shot and disturbing your selfies with the stunning sights as it’s usually off the beaten track.

    Stop by Manla Reservoir, which is the unique scenery line around the mountains with an average elevation of 4330 meters above sea level. Embedded onto the awe-inspiring mountain, the Reservoir is glittering in its transparent green water, showing a distinct beauty with the blue water of Yambork Lake.

    Afterwards, come to the most important site in Gyantse - Penchor Chode Monastery, located in Gyangze Country, Shigatse area, surrounded by hills, this Monastery is a typical Tibetan Buddhist structure with a harmonious fusion of pagodas and temples, fully representing the architectural style of monasteries in Shigatse from late of 13th century to the middle of 15th century. Besides, you’ll also have a chance to see the notable Penchor Chode Pagoda (its official name is Bodhi Monastery) injecting a more special charm of this place. It has 9 tiers, 77 chapels and 108 doors, shrines and so on, housing hundreds of thousands of Buddha Images, hence the name “Hundreds of Thousands of Pagodas”.

  9. Day 9: Shigatse - Lhasa by Car, 300km, Approx 5hrs
    Shigatse - Lhasa by Car, 300km, Approx 5hrs

    AM: After hotel breakfast, follow your guide to explore Tashilhunpo Monastery, the largest one in Shigatse with a location at the foot of a hill, titled as one of the “Four Greatest Monasteries of Tibetan Gelug Sect together with Gandan Monastery, Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery. The Monastery of sparkling yellow roofs and red walls houses those devout monks and visitors, describing the beautiful moments about human and their holy religious belief.

    Noon: Lunch on your own.

    PM: Later, drive around 5 hours back to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the river view of Yarlung Zangbo River.

  10. Day 10: Lhasa Departure ( B )

    Free and easy on your own until the pickup time for departure. Our guide and driver will meet you at the hotel lobby and transfer to Lhasa airport/train station to see you off.
