  1. Day 1: Xishuangbanna Arrival

    Upon your arrival at Jinghong Gasa International Airport, our local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name and transfer to downtown hotel for check-in. Free and easy on your own for rest of the day.

  2. Day 2: Xishuangbanna Tour

    Drive along the Mekong to Ganlanba, visit Dai Village in the countryside, learn the facts about Dai’s traditional culture and life.

    Further in the east to Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden, which is the biggest tropical botanical garden in China. Enjoy nice garden view, learn about various interesting plants, do relaxing walk in the rainforest zone of garden to admire the great bio-diversity of the tropics.

    After the tour finished, transfer back to Jinghong city.

  3. Day 3: Xishuangbanna Tour

    Excursion towards the west, first stop at Menghai, visit its daily farmer market to find out how local life goes, then drive to Jingzhen to see Octagonal Pavilion and traditional Buddhism temple of Dai to get some knowledge about Dai’s Buddhism.

    Move to Menghun, visit paper-making village of Dai, where people are still making paper with tree bark in traditional way. On the way back to Jinghong, visit Mount. Nannuo, a famous Pu’er tea growing area with long history, do some relaxing hiking to see ancient tea trees in forest, visit village of Aini people, if time permits, have a short visit to local family and have a taste of their organic Pu’er tea. After the tour finished, transfer back to Jinghong city.

  4. Day 4: Xishuangbanna – Lijiang by Flight

    Free and easy in the morning. Our driver will pick you up from flight to Lijiang (no guide service).

    Upon arrival, our local tour guide and the driver will pick you up on time. Go to explore the Lijiang Ancient Town. Lijiang Ancient Town has a history of more than 800 years; it was listed as the World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO 1997. Here you will see the wonderful wooden architecture of Naxi ethnic people.

  5. Day 5: Lijiang Tour

    In the morning, drive to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain which is 30 kilometers away from Lijiang Old Town. Visit Ganhaizi Meadow, then take the sightseeing bus to visit Baishui River, which is well-known as the Blue Moon Valley from the glacier of the snow mountain. Take chairlift to visit the Glacier Park in the snow mountain.

    Later, head to Baisha Village and appreciate the ancient Baisha Mural Paintings. Visit Dabaoji Palace and Liuli Temple to view murals painted over 1000 years ago which is a combination of Tibetan Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism.

    Then, it is followed by a trip to Shuhe Ancient Town - one of the earliest settlements of Naxi people as well as the well-preserved stop of the Ancient Tea Horse Route. Transfer back to your hotel in the end.

  6. Day 6: Lijiang - Xizhou

    After breakfast, drive 2 hours to Shaxi Old Town. Shaxi is the last remaining ancient market town of its kind on the Tea & Horse Caravan Trail. This trail is a trading route that connected Tibet, Sichuan, and Yunnan to countries in southeast Asia, also called the Southern Silk Road. The World Monuments Fund (WMF) has listed Shaxi as one of the 100 most endangered sites in the world in 2001.

    Then continue drive to Xizhou Town, checking hotel and have sort rest. Then pay a visit to the Xizhou Town. Here you can fully appreciate Bai-style traditional architectural courtyards, taste their fragrant Three-Course Tea and explore their distinctive culture.

  7. Day 7: Xizhou - Dali

    After breakfast in hotel, drive to Dali. Start the tour with Three Pagodas in Chongshen Monastery which has a history of over 1,800 years located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain facing to the Erhai Lake. Three Pagodas are made of three ancient independent pagodas forming a symmetrical triangle. Next come to the Erhai Lake Park consists of the Haixin Pavilion, swimming pool, promenade, zoo, botanical garden, flower garden and the place for fishing. To the south of Wanghai Tower, there is a colorful garden. All kinds of Dali famous flowers like camellia, rhododendron, plum, lily, compete for beauty. On the north side of the sea promenade is 300 grades of bluestone steps that are more than 3 feet wide, like a waterfall rushing down, directly to the beach in the middle of the park. Later, transfer to Zhoucheng Village where you can closely visit the Tie-dying workshop operated by local Bai people. If you have interests, you can take some special souvenir with the Bai ethnic style. After that, come to Dali Ancient Town, walk around the Foreigner Street and enjoy the relax time with local people.

  8. Day 8: Dali - Kunming by High-speed Train

    Take the morning high speed train to Kunming. Upon arrival, our local tour guide will pick you up on time, drive 85 km to the typical Karst landform - Stone Forest. Walk into the Greater Stone Forest, marvel at groups of gray-black stone peaks and climb up a pavilion to have a panoramic view of the intricate stone forest. Visit the Lesser Stone Forest and listen to the legendary story of “Ashima”. It will be a real treat to visit the extraordinary natural stone forest. You feel like come into a "stone world".

    Visit the most picturesque park in Kunming urban area - the Green Lake Park. Here you can share the happiness of local people’s doing tai chi, performing local opera, and other vibrant activities.

    After the tour finished, transfer to hotel and checking in.

  9. Day 9: Kunming – Chengdu by Flight

    Our driver will pick you up from hotel lobby, transfer to the airport and catch the early morning flight  to Chengdu (no guide service in Kunming).

    Upon arrival, our local tour guide and the driver will pick you up on time by holding a board with your name. Then drive for about 2 hours to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha. It took 90 years for three generations of craftsmen to accomplish this 71-meter-high statue. There is more to it than what you see with your eyes. For example, there are 1051 buns of curly hair on the head of the Buddha, and it has an invisible irrigation system just behind its ears and head. Your knowledgeable tour guide will share the history and some fascinating stories of the colossal Buddha.

    Friendly Tips: There are 2 ways to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, one is climbing up the mountain, one is taking a cruise along the river to take far view of it. Climbing up the mountain was included in the package as most tourists said this way is better. Taking cruise is optional (cost RMB70/pax). If you would like to take cruise instead of climbing up the mountain, or if you want to try both these 2 ways, just ask your tour guide for assistance.

  10. Day 10: Chengdu Tour

    In the morning our guide and driver will greet you in your hotel lobby and escort you to Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, which is well known for the protection and breeding of the endangered giant pandas which are unique to China. The base is definitely a highlight for most visitors to Chengdu. There are adorable pandas everywhere. You can watch them eating bamboo, playing with each other, and of course sleeping. Your tour guide will navigate you through the huge area, share some information about the pandas, and help you take amazing photos.

    Then take a walk in Jinli Old Street. That street used to be one of the oldest and busiest commercial streets of Shu Kingdom. In that street tourists will see some typical elements of Chengdu lifestyle. E.g. Tea houses, taverns, bars, local snacks, handcrafts, local specialties, etc.

  11. Day 11: Chengdu Departure

    Your 11 days Yunnan and Chengdu trip will end today. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at confirmed time, transfer to the airport and take the flight back to your sweet home. Service end here.
