5 Days Xian and Huangshan Tour by High-speed Train

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Xian Arrival

   Upon your arrival at Xian airport/train station, a local driver will pick you up from the exit gate and transfer you to the downtown hotel for check-in. Free and easy on your arrangement for the rest of the day.

2. Day 2: Xian Terracotta Warriors Tour
   Explore Xian's History by Visiting Clay Warriors & City Wall

   Your Xian exploration begins with the world's heritage of Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Known as "the Eighth Wonder of the World", it was found by four local farmers while drilling a well in 1974. Now it has been the No.1 attractive site in Xi'an. The museum includes Pit 1 (the largest pit), Pit 2, Pit 3, and the exhibition hall of the chariots and horses. You will spend 2-2.5 hours listening to the explanation from the expert tour guide.

   

   Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then head back to the Xian downtown area for another historical highlight - the Ancient City Wall. It is the most completely preserved and the largest city wall in China, which was built for military defense in ancient times. You can ride a bike around the city wall (optional, at your own expense).

   Afterward, continue your Xian tour to Bell and Drum Tower Square, in the very center of the city which is considered the symbol of this old capital. Walking forward, come to the Muslim Quarter where you will find many special local products and authentic local snacks. After the visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

3. Day 3: Xian to Huangshan Tour by High-speed Train

   In the morning, the driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby and drive to the train station for your high-speed train to Huangshan. The train rides for around 7-8 hours, so you are suggested to prepare some food before departing from Xian.

   When you arrive at Huangshan North Station, there will be a local private driver waiting for you at the exit gate. After meeting you, you will be escorted to a local hotel.

4. Day 4: Mount Huangshan Tour
   Admire Grotesque Rocks and Strange Pines

   After hotel breakfast, meet your Huangshan tour guide and drive for around 1-1.5 hours to Yellow Mountain. Upon arrival, follow your guide to take the shuttle bus to Yungu Station and then take a cable car up the mountain. Start your Mount Huangshan hiking through the Beihai Scenic Area, passing Begin-to-Believe Peak, Black Tiger Pine, and other attractions, and finally arrive at the Cloud-Dispelling Pavilion to enjoy the sunset. This is one of the classic routes for hiking in Huangshan Mountain. Visitors can overlook the magnificent view of the West Sea Grand Canyon here.

   If physical strength permits, it is worthwhile to continue to the Bright Summit, where you can not only enjoy the wonders of the Flying-over Rock, but also have a great view of the main peak of Mount Huangshan.

   After all the visits, return to your hotel and have a good rest.

5. Day 5: Huangshan Village Tour, Departure
   Explore the Hui-style Architecture and Tranquil Lakes

   Early in the morning, go to Refreshing Terrance, which is the perfect place to watch the sunrise, the first light of the sun. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Continue hiking to Lion Peak, along the way to enjoy the wonders of the Monkey Watching the Sea, the spirit monkey life-like, the sea of clouds tumbling like a fairyland. At the end of the Mount Huangshan tour, take the cable car from Yungu Station and go down the mountain.

   After that, you will be transferred back to Huangshan city center to explore Hongcun Village. This ancient village is representative of Huizhou-style architecture, and is known as "the countryside in Chinese paintings". You will admire over 140 well-preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty residential buildings. Attractions such as the South Lake and the Moon Pond add to the charm of this scenic spot. Strolling in Hongcun is like being in a beautiful painting, perfect for sketching.

   At the end of this 5-day Xian and Huangshan tour, you will be dropped off at Huangshan airport/train station for departure. Safe travels!
