This night tour starts at 6:30 pm when you meet your guide at your hotel lobby.
Then you will follow the guide to explore the overall night view of central Beijing. Firstly, come to China World Tower. Locating at the Beijing Central Business District, it is chosen as the office building by many of the Fortune Global 500 companies to run their business. Beijing CBD is the home of many high-end domestic enterprises in finance, insurance, real estate and network. Meanwhile, it’s a collection of financial instruments, representing the cutting edge of fashion. Later on, you will pass by other significant buildings here, including Beijing Hotel, Oriental Square, China’s General Administration of Customs, CCTV building and so forth. Beijing hotel is a large luxury hotel with a long history, close to the downtown Wangfujing commercial street. It blends the eastern and western cultures and has welcome many heads of state and regional leaders. CCTV Headquarters building was selected as one of the world’s top ten architectural wonders in 2007 by Time Magazine on December 24, 2007, which owns irreplaceable status in China. Besides, there’s also China Zun, rated as “top ten contemporary Chinese architecture”. Zun refers to the shape that looks like the vessel used to hold wine in ancient China.
Next visit the magic giant LED Screen at the shopping center in Beijing’s CBD. The area of the screen is bigger than a football field, suspended above people’s heads. The LED makes a combination of sound and light with fantastic colors and fashion taste to the whole commercial street, making it a world-class spectacle, and bringing the crowds into a space of infinite imagination.
Afterwards you will come to the “eggshell”. Designed by French architect Paul Andrew, the National Centre for the Performing Arts of China has semi-ellipsoidal appearance, and is the largest theatre complex in Asia. There are opera house, concert hall, theater, art exhibition hall, restaurant, video store and other supporting facilities. The ellipsoid shell is surrounded by an artificial lake with a surface area of 35,500 square meters, and all the channels and entrances are located under the water. Pedestrians need to enter the performance hall through an 80-meter underwater passageway.
Go ahead the walking on Chang’an Street, an urban trunk road connecting Dongcheng district and Xicheng district in Beijing. Chang ‘an avenue is bounded by Tian’anmen Square. It is an east-west axis line running through the capital city of China, and one of the famous streets in Chinese history. Subsequently, you will explore a nationally-famous snack street – Wangfujing Street. The street displays the creativity and design of innovation, integrating the traditional architectural feature and local folk culture. You will be surprised by the over 100 kinds of snacks here sold on different stalls. Finally, you will meander at the Houhai Lake Bar Street. Houhai is a part of Shichahai, and you can take a leisure walk while immersing in the relaxing evening time. Those bars in this street mostly look low-key for exterior, but when you get in, you will enjoy the very special interior design. Bordering by the lake, there is no noisy music, only melodious singing and the unique cultural atmosphere of the post-80s generation.
When finishing the tour, you will be transferred back to your downtown hotel by 9:30 pm.
