Day 1 Beijing Arrival

Our guide will be waiting for you at the exit, holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Then you will be driven to the hotel and have a good rest. In the rest of the day, you can explore this metropolis and take some pictures.

Day 2 Beijing to Luoyang

Attractions: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City(Breakfast+Lunch)

At about 8:30am, your guide will meet you at the hotel and start your journey. The first full day will cover four spots. First, you will visit the famous Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City. After a short sightseeing at Tiananmen Square, you will walk across the Golden Water Bridge and come to the splendid Forbidden City built 600 years ago, where you will be impressed by the gorgeous imperial palaces and vast storage of historical relics. It will take our 1 hour to have lunch. After the lunch, Your visit continues to the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. It is a royal temple in the Qing Dynasty (1616-1912). The unique architecture, like Hall of Prayer of Good Harvest and Echo Wall, will leave you an deep impression. Finishing the tour, you will be transferred to Luoyang by overlight soft-sleeper train.

Day 3 Luoyang to Xian

Attractions: Longmen Grottoes, Shaolin Temple and Pagoda Forest, Kungfu Show(Breakfast+Lunch)

In Luoyang we are going to visit two famous sites. First we will proceed to Longmen Grottoes, which is one of the four largest grottoes in China. Then we will head to Shaolin Temple and Pagoda Forest. It is the unique culture in China. There you will appreciate famous Kungfu Show which is the most splendid one than anywhere else because Shaolin Temple is the specifical place where people learn Kungfu. We can assure you that it will not let you down. Afterwards we will take an overnight soft-sleeper train to Xian.

Day 4 Xian

Attractions: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Huaqing Hot Springs, Tang Dynasty Show(Lunch)

Today we will have a full and interesting trip in Xian, visiting 3 spots all together. In the morning, we will begin our trip at the world’s eighth wonder- the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. A delicious a la carte lunch at the best local restaurant will be prepared for you. After the lunch, we will proceed to Huaqing Hot Spring within only 15 minutes driving. Huaqing pools are fascinating for its exquisite and picturesque scenary characterized by pink peach blossoms, green willows, dense foliage, beautiful pavilions and so on. You can have a bath in the hot spring which is very good for health. Driving back to Xian, for dinner, two choices are offered: the luxurious Tang Dynasty Imperial Dinner and the standard Dumpling Dinner. While eating Tang Dynasty Imperial Dinner , you can appreciate the fascinating Tang-style Singing and Dancing Show in the splendid Tang Dynasty Paradise or Shaanxi Opera Theater. After finished Dumpling Dinner you can enjoy the Tang Dynasty Dance and Music Show at Shaanxi Opera Theater.

Terracotta Warriors and Horses

Day 5 Xian-Lanzhou

Attractions: Shaanxi History Museum, Ancient City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Lunch)

After the breakfast, you will first visit the Shaanxi History Museum. In the afternoon, we will come to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the seven-story pagoda has witnessed much changes and development of Xian in the past 1,300 years. Then you will visit the City Wall, which is the best-preserved city wall in China. It will be an unforgettable experience to rent a bike riding around the city on the wall. After the fantastic tour, we will take an overnight soft-sleeper train to Lanzhou.

Day 6 Lanzhou to Jiayuguan

Attractions: Binglingsi Grottoes (Lunch)

You will get to the Binglingsi Grottoes by boat and spend a whole day in there. Thanks to the good natural conditions and little man-made damages, the Grottoes have been well- protected comparatively. About 776 Buddha statues, over 1,076 square yards murals and 6 stones sculptures are remained here after a long history of 1,600 year. After the fantastic tour, we will take an overnight soft-sleeper train to Jiayuguan.

Binglingsi Grottoes

Day 7 Jiayuguan

Attractions: Jiangyuguan Pass, Wei-Jin Art Gallery(Lunch)

We will arrive in Jiangyuguan City and visit the well-known Jiayuanguan Pass. As one of the most grandiose ancient forts on the Silk Road, Jiayuguan was named the First Pass under Heaven. Then you will proceed to the First Fire Tower of Great Wall, known as the west end of the Ming-dynasty Great Wall. The 56-meter-high (184 feet) tower stands on the cliff of the Gobi desert, with the Talai River flowing by and the majestic Jiayuguan Pass at a distance. Then the next stop is the Wei-Jin Art Gallery. Named Wei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb, it is a huge tomb group with more than 1,400 tombs. What is the most amazing is that they all were constructed in the 3rd and 5th century during the Wei and Jin dynasties. Regarded as the largest underground gallery in the world, it houses a huge collection of murals, bringing you back to the Wei and Jin dynasties about 1,500 years ago.

Day 8 Jiayuguan-Dunhuang

Attractions: Mogao Grottoes, Dunhuang Museum(Breakfast+Lunch)

Pickup from hotel by our local driver and transfer to catch the morning trian to Liuyuan (Name of the train station in Dunhuang). Arriving in Liuyuan Station our local guide will meet you at train station and transfer to visit Mogao Grottoes, the most famous Buddhist Grottoes in China. After that drive to visit Dunhuang Museum to have a glimpse of Dunhuang history and historical relics unearthed in Dunhuang. At last transfer to hotel.

Day 9 Dunhuang to Turpan (Breakfast+Lunch)

Attractions: Echoing-Sand Mountain, Crescent Lake(Breakfast+Lunch)

Today you will visit one of the most famous attractions along the Silk Road- the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. A short camel ride will leave you a unforgettable memory. Riding along the mountain to reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert. It has not dried up over the past one thousand years and still gushes with fresh current. Then you will take an overnight train to Turpan.

Echoing-Sand Mountain

Day 10 Turpan

Attractions: Karez Wells,  Jiaohe Ruins, Sugong Pagoda(Lunch)

Today we are going to visit three famous places. In the morning, you will have an exploration of Jiaohe Ruins, which is one of the most important towns along the ancient Silk Road. It is also the largest, oldest and best-preserved earth construction in the world. Although 2,000 years have passed, the former brilliants of Jiaohe can still be found from the ruins. Then you will visit the well-known Karez Well, the gigantic underground irrigation system created by ancient Xinjiang people. There are over 1,100 Karez Wells in Turpan, providing precious water source to this dry and hot area during the past 400 years. The last stop of today will be the existed largest ancient pagoda in Xinjiang, Sugong Pagoda. The pagoda is a 44-meter-high (144 feet) Islamic pagoda, which bears a history of over 200 years. After that transfer to Urumqi.
