Day 1 Xian Arrival
Our guide will be waiting for you at the exit, holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Then you will be transferred to the hotel where we have booked for you and check in . In the rest of the day, take the time to relax yourself and prepare for the coming Silk Road trip.
Day 2 Xian
Attractions: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Huaqing Hot Springs, Tang Dynasty Show (Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner)
Today we will have a full and interesting trip in Xian, visiting 3 spots all together. In the morning, we will begin our trip at the world’s eighth wonder- the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. A delicious a la carte lunch at the best local restaurant will be prepared for you. Then you will visit Huaqing Hot Springs. It used to be the palace of Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang. For dinner at night, you have two choices: the luxurious Tang Dynasty Imperial Dinner and the standard Dumpling Dinner. While eating Tang Dynasty Imperial Dinner , you can appreciate the fascinating Tang-style Singing and Dancing Show in the splendid Tang Dynasty Palace. After finished Dumpling Dinner you can enjoy the Tang Dynasty Dance and Music Show at Shaanxi Opera Theater.

Day 3 Xian-Lanzhou
Attractions: Shaanxi History Museum, Ancient City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda(Breakfast+Lunch)
After the breakfast, you will first visit the Shaanxi History Museum. In the afternoon, we will come to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the seven-story pagoda has witnessed much changes and development of Xian in the past 1,300 years. Then you will visit the City Wall, which is the best-preserved city wall in China. It will be a unforgettable experience to rent a bike riding around the city on the wall. Finishing the tour in Xian, we will take an overnight soft-sleeper train to Lanzhou.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Day 4 Lanzhou
Attractions: Waterwheel Garden, White Pagoda Hill, Gansu Museum(Lunch)
Upon arrival, you will visit 3 places of interests in Lanzhou. First we proceed to the Waterwheel Garden, which is located on South Binhe East Road, the opposite side of the river from White Pagoda Hill, 1 km west of Zhongshan Bridge. There is also a chance to ride on a raft of inflated sheep skins. Then you will visit the nearby White Pagoda Hill. It was originally erected in the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). Climbing to the top of the Hill will give you a great overview of Lanzhou and the surrounding mountains. Lastly you will visit Gansu Museum, housing 75,000 cultural relics, ranging from fossil to articles of historical and heritage significance. It is the largest comprehensive museum in Gansu Province which holds about 350,000 pieces of ancient cultural relics, including contemporary and modern cultural relics, ethnic cultural relics and fossil specimens
Day 5 Lanzhou – Xiahe
Attractions: Sangke Prairie, local Tibetan family(Breakfast+Lunch)
Today you will enjoy a bus trip to picturesque Xiahe, where is next to Lanzhou. After a short break in the hotel, you will explore Sangke Prairie. It is typical plateau grassland, covering a vast area of 27 square miles and being embraced by mountains, Sangke Prairie is a fantastic place to appreciate the magnificent pastoral scenery: the river is slipping slowly northwards and sheep and cattle are freely wandering about on it. Then, you will have a chance to call on a local Tibetan family to experience the local life.
Day 6 Xiahe – Lanzhou
Attractions: Labrang Monastery(Breakfast+Lunch)
Today you will begin your travel in the well-known Labrang Monastery. What makes it so famous is that it is one of the six most renowned monasteries as well as the largest Buddhist Institute of Tibetan Buddhism. This monastery boasts tens of thousands of statues of Buddha made of various materials. It must be a special experience to watch the morning devotion there. Then, you will travel back to Lanzhou and check in the hotel again.
Day 7 Lanzhou – Wuwei
Attractions: Lei Tai Han Tomb, Wen Temple (Wen Miao), Tiantishan Grottoes(Breakfast+Lunch)
Today you will be escorted to Wuwei by car. After arrival, you will visit three sites. The first one is Lei Tai Han Tomb. It was built in the late Han Dynasty. Now it is famous for excavating the cultural treasure bronze galloping horse. Then go to visit Wuwei Wen Temple (Wen Miao) which is located in the southeast of the city. Wuwei Wen temple became key provincial level historical reservation approved by Gansu Municipal People’s Government. The last stop is Tiantishan Grottoes, located in Dengshan Village of Zhonglu Town. It was first constructed during Northern Liang of Sixteen Kingdoms Period and is famous as one of earliest grottoes carved in China and regarded as the “forefather of grotto” by researchers.
Day 8 Wuwei – Zhangye
Attractions: Giant Buddha Temple, Wooden Tower(Breakfast+Lunch)
Upon arrive in Zhangye( 4 hours’ driving), we will first have a visit to Giant Buddha Temple, which is the centerpiece of Zhangye in Gansu Province. It is located in the southwest corner of Zhangye. The magnificent Giant Buddha Temple owns the position of the largest architectural relic of the western Xia (1038-1227) period. As the well-preserved and largest reclining Buddha, its calm and amiable expression and natural looking moves all visitors. Then will have a sight in Wooden Tower of Sui Dynasty. Originally it was built in the Sui Dynasty and restored in 1926, which is 9 storied with a height of about 40 meters. It is an essence among the wooden towers in China.
Day 9 Zhangye – Jiayuguan
Attractions: Jiayuanguan Pass, Wei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb(Breakfast+Lunch)
Driving westward, we will arrive in Jiangyuguan City and visit the well-known Jiayuanguan Pass. As one of the most grandiose ancient forts on the Silk Road, JIayuguan was named the First Pass under Heaven. Then you will proceed to the First Fire Tower of Great Wall, known as the west end of the Ming-dynasty Great Wall. The 56-meter-high (184 feet) tower stands on the cliff of the Gobi desert, with the Talai River flowing by and the majestic Jiayuguan Pass at a distance. Then the next stop is the Wei-Jin Art Gallery. Named Wei-Jin Mural Brick Tomb, it is a huge tomb group with more than 1,400 tombs. What is the most amazing is that they all were constructed in the 3rd and 5th century during the Wei and Jin dynasties. Regarded as the largest underground gallery in the world, it houses a huge collection of murals, bringing you back to the Wei and Jin dynasties about 1,500 years ago.
Day 10 Jiayuguan – Dunhuang
Attractions: Yulin Grottoes(Breakfast+Lunch)
After arrive in Dunhuang, you will visit Yulin Grottoes. These caves, which is about 180kms from the Mogao Caves. With their murals and sculptures, Yulin Grottoes are in a valley among Qilin Mountain. When you walk along the valley road you can easily understand how it must have been to be a poet or brave solder in the distant past.
Day 11 Dunhuang – Turpan
Attractions: Mogao Grottoes, Camel Ride, Crescent Lake(Breakfast+Lunch)
Today’s tour begins with the Mogao Grottoes, which is one of the four most famous caves in China.Then you will visit one of the most famous attractions along the Silk Road- the Echoing-Sand Mountain. When you slide down the slope, you can hear the roaring echo of sands, hence the name. A short camel ride will leave you a unforgettable memory. Riding along the mountain to reach the Crescent Lake, your eyes will be feasted on the crescent-shaped spring surrounded by the endless Gobi desert. It has not dried up over the past one thousand years and still gushes with fresh current. Tonight you will take an overnight soft-sleeper train to Turpan

Day 12 Turpan
Attractions: Gaochang Ruins, Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave, Flaming Hill(Breakfast+Lunch)
Today you will visit three famous sites all together. First is another famous ruin in Turpan, Gaochang Ruins, which used to be the capital of ancient Gaochang Kingdom. Then you will go to the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave, a series of caves with thousands of Buddhism murals. The vivid murals show many Buddhism figures, stories, and the social life about 1,000 years ago in Ancient Gaochang Kingdom. The last stop will be the hottest place in China– the Flaming Hill, situated at the north of ancient Silk Road. The temperature is so high that nothing grows on the hill. The record highest temperature of summer could reach 47.8 ℃ (118 ℉). After finished the trip in Turpan , you will go to Urumqi by car.
Day 13 Turpan – Urumqi
Attractions: Heavenly Lake(Breakfast+Lunch)
Today our tour guide and driver will escort you from Turpan to Urumqi and have a visit to Heavenly Lake, which is at the center of Heavenly Mountain (Tianshan Mountain). 100 kilometers away from city of Urumqi, Heavenly Lake gives the impression of nobleness, elegance and beauty. Clear lake, snow mountains and soaring pin trees compose the charming scenery of the Heavenly Lake.
Day 14 Urumqi
Attractions: Erdaoqiao Market, Xinjiang Museum (Breakfast+Lunch)
After the breakfast, you will first visit Erdaoqiao Market, the largest retail and wholesale market of ethnic minority goods in Xinjiang. Erdaoqiao used to be a distribution center for goods from both Xinjiang and central Asian countries on the Silk Road for a long time. Then proceed to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Museum has a huge collections, including silver works of art, stone steles, coins and currency, ceramics, wooden articles, and paintings. The amazing part will be the well-preserved 4,000-year-old corpses, unearthed along the Silk Road. Then we will drive you to Souvenir Shop of the Great Hall of the People is famous for high quality Hetian jade. Various kinds of jade will just bring you an eye feast.
Day 15 Urumqi – Kashgar
Attractions: Id Kah Mosque, Old Street of Kashgar (Breakfast+Lunch)
In the morning, we will take a flight to Kashgar. The first cultural site in Kashgar is the Id Kah Mosque, a typical Islamic architecture like domes, minarets and arches, as well as pious prayers. It has a 500 years history. Just a few minutes’ walk, you will come to the Old Street of Kashgar, where bring you back to the ancient Kashgar, with narrow alleys and traditional houses built with earth or brick.

Day 16 Kashgar – Urumqi
Attractions: Abakh Khoja Tomb, Kashgar Old Town(Breakfast+Lunch)
After the breakfast, you will visit the Abakh Khoja Tomb, which is an ancient Islamic building complex and a cemetery. Five generations of a famous Islamic master were buried here. It is considered as the largest dome architecture in the east of the cemetery. As an ancient city, Kashgar Old Town will present you an image of what this legendary Central Asian Hub was like in the days when the Silk Road was at its zenith. The city wall has 500 years old with narrow lanes and colorful multi-ethnic crowds combine to make Kashgar’s historic district a highlight of any visit to the city. After the visit, we will take a flight to Urumqi.
