The annual average temperature is 7.2°C, with the coldest month being January with an average temperature of -11°C, and the hottest month being July with an average temperature of 23°C. The annual rainfall is around 270 mm, with most of it concentrated in July and August2. Baotou is also known for being a windy city, with sandstorms being a possibility in the spring season.
