Day 1 Xian

Attractions: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Tang Bo Art Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Lunch)

The guide will meet you up at some 9:00 am, holding a sign with your name at your hotel lobby. Then you will start today’s journey at famous Terracotta Warriors Museum, which is known as “the Eighth Wonder of the World”. The museum locates 30 km east of Xian city and the original site was found by four local farmers while drilling a well in 1974. Now it has turned into one of the most influential attractions in China. You will stay in the museum for 2-3 hours to witness life-sized figures with 2,000 years, marvel at the surprisingly high level in sculpture. After lunch, you will be guided to Tang Bo Art Museum, which exhibits Shaanxi folk art and ancient Chinese painting, such as Huxian farmers painting, shadow puppetry, paper cutting, Mashao facial makeup. You will also have a chance to learn Chinese calligraphy here.Next, come to Big Wild Goose Pagoda that built in Tang Dynasty 652 A.D. for the purpose of preserving the Buddhist sculptures brought from India to Chang’an (old name of Xian) by XuanZang. With tour guide’s explanation to its background, you will get a better idea about religious, political and cultural life of that great dynasty. Finally, you can optionally choose to enjoy a visual feast, the spectacular choreography and music show, also your palate will be entertained by the affluent selections of filled dumplings. When all the activities are finished, we drive you back to your hotel.

Day 2 Xian

Attractions: Bell and Drum Tower Square, City Wall, Shu Yuan Men, Defu Alley, Muslim Quarter, Gao Family Courtyard, Shadow Puppet

Today you will go hiking more to deeply explore Xian characteristic alleys around the City Wall. First you will head to the Bell and Drum Tower Square. Located in the very center of Xian, they are considered the symbols of the city. After that, continue walking to Kaitong Lane, which extends the foot of City Wall where you will spend about 2 hours to learn the history of the great heritage. You will then wander around the wall and come to Shu Yuan Men. Guanzhong Academy, the highest institution of in Shaanxi between Ming and Qing dynasties, is located in this street. Along the vintage street, there are calligraphy and painting shops and those selling Chinese Four Treasures of the Study, as well as local handcrafts.

Subsequently, you will proceed the strolling in Defu Alley. The path is paved with flagstone and both sides erect antique bars, shops, cafes, blending the atmosphere of modernity and quaintness. The last stop for today is Muslim Quarter where you will find many local snacks and crafts. The Gao Family Courtyard locating in Muslim Quarter will entertain you with a traditional awesome Shadow Puppet performance.

Day 3 Xian

Attractions: Hanyangling Museum (Lunch)

In the morning, the guide will pick you up and lead you to Hanyangling Museum. It is the mausoleum of the 4th emperor in the Han Dynasty (202BC-220AD). In the excavated satellite corridors you will see many mortuary objects buried for the Emperor. After the visiting, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to next station. Service ends here.
