Can Women and Men Be Intimate Friends?

Yesterday, my best girlfriend asked me whether I believed there is pure friendship between men and women or not. In other words, can a man and a woman be bosom friends without any other emotions, just friendship? Well, I don’t know, to be honest I don’t have such a intimate friend. I think there isn’t any true friendship between a man and a woman. When a man stay close to a woman, or a woman to a man, there is always some reasons. But definitely not only for friendship? What’s your opinion?

I have asked my several friends. One of them said:“They can be friends without any emotional feelings as I did with some of my opposite sex friends.The feelings were merely friendly. We would go out and have a dinner or share our opinions together happily, and we both feel comfortably. There is indeed pure friendship existing between us. Of course that ws from my side.”

“Talking about my part the feelings were purely friendly and could never develop to something different.” said another friend. In fact, a lot of people have got friends of the opposite sex. I think it can happen. But it depends on the circumstances. Sometimes when the two persons like each other, then it is probably very difficult for it to stay at a friendship stage. As for me, I like to make friends with opposite sex, but I’m not sure if I could keep it be friendship for a long time.
