Indian Foreign Minister Declare China’s New Passport “Unacceptable”
Inside pages’ map of China’s new passport has caused serious concern of some surrounding countries. Indian Foreign Minister declared that it is “unacceptable” for China’s new passport map to take the disputed border area between China and India into China’s territory, according to foreign reports. Meanwhile, India also takes some tit-for-tat measures to issue visas with “Indian map” to Chinese people.
“China’s new passport signs “Indian Arunachal Pradesh” (China’s southern Tibet region) and Aksai Chin area of Himalayan as part of China’s territory, which is “unacceptable”, India’s Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid said on Nov 24, reported by A.P.
As a “counter measure”, India began to issue Chinese people visas accompanied with “map of Indian version”, which includes “India’s claims on its sovereign territory.” AFC comments that this is a tit-for-tat measure of India.
As a matter of fact, the Philippines and Vietnam also have protested for China’s new e-passport, declaring that China’s action is an “infringement on their sovereignty”. China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Nov 23 that the design of China’s new passport was not directed against any country and expected relative countries could see it rationally.
