Shanghai Will Find Location for Duty-free Shop

Shanghai will explore and carry out tax refund policy for foreign tourist and set locations for duty-free shop. Currently, Pudong district is striving for the destinations of the policy. The latest Shanghai Promotes International Trade Center Construction voted in 37th meeting of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress revealed the news. The construction regulations will take effect on January 1, 2013. And Shanghai will focus on the construction of landmark commercial center and characteristic business district.

Recently, Pudong District is building a new district tourism and exhibition industry that concentrates on Lujiazui District, where locates many famous tourism, convention and exhibition centers such as Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai New International Expo Center, Shanghai International Conference Center, Pudong Expo and the Disney Land being built now. Experts believe that relying on all these facts, Pudong has an obvious advantages of being the beneficiary of departure tax exemption policy. In addition, with the growth of visitors in Pudong Airport, it has a huge development potential in business.
