Welcome to our 2-day private cultural tour in Kashgar! Upon your arrival at Kashgar airport (please arrive before 10:00 am), our local English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up, and your Kashgar exploration begins!
KashgarĀ Old Town has a history of more than 2,100 years and was a key stop along the ancient Silk Road. Inside the ancient city, narrow stone streets wind through traditional Uyghur houses with bright colors. As you walk around, you can try local food, enjoy traditional Uyghur music and dance, and get a feel for the unique traditions.
The opening ceremony of Kashgar Ancient City is usually held at 10:30 am every day at the east gate. The ceremony uses narration, dialogue, dance, and acrobatics to vividly show the history of the ancient Silk Road and the harmonious integration of multiple ethnic groups. For a better viewing experience, it is recommended that you arrive 30 minutes in advance to occupy a favorable position.
After that, you can admire the largest Islamic mosque in Xinjiang -Ā Id Kah Mosque, which can be traced back to 1442, in the Ming Dynasty. Through the tour guide's explanation, get a glimpse of its history and beautiful Arabic-style architecture. āā
Later, you will be guided to visit the localĀ Handicrafts Market. Today you will further explore the amazing Kashgar! First, come to visit the Local Livestock Market. In the suburb of Kashgar City, it is an interesting window for you to learn the local culture and folk customs of South Xinjiang. It is said to be the largest livestock market in Asia, mainly with the trade of flocks and herds. Hawking from sellers, bargaining from buyers, moo and bleat from the animals forming a busy and down-to-earth scene before you.
After that, transfer you to visit the Abakh Khoja Tomb, a masterpiece of Uyghur architecture that serves as the mausoleum for the Abakh Khoja family. Abakh Hoja was once the leader of this region in the 17th century. The tomb is now one of the holiest Muslim sites for locals, offering a glimpse into the beauty and history of the Uyghur culture and architecture.
Finishing the sightseeing, you will be dropped off at Kashgar airport for departure.
