You can get to Zhangjiajie from almost anywhere of the country. Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport offers flights to many domestic cities, like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Changsha, and is only 5 kilometers from Zhangjiajie city center.
From Chengdu, Chongqing, and Changsha, high-speed trains can take you to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station in 2-4 hours.

How do I get to the Avatar mountains from Zhangjiajie?
The āAvatar MountainsāĀ are the peak forests in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. To be specific, they officially refer to the āQiankun Columnā (also known as the āHallelujah Mountainā) in Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. After getting to the forest park by bus or taxi, you can take the free Park Eco-bus to reach the lower station of the Bailong Elevator. This outdoor elevator will take you to the top of the mountain in no more than 2 minutes. Or, you can hike up via the Luanchuanpo trail.
