Highlights of This Tour
From Central Street to Ice and Snow World:
Walk along Central Street past European-style facades and try a Madieer ice cream in the freezing Harbin winter. See frozen Songhua River and, if you’re lucky, local winter swimmers. At dusk, watch the giant ice sculptures and buildings light up in Harbin Ice and Snow World.

Hit the Slopes in Yabuli:
Spend two to three hours on the beginner runs at one of China’s best-known ski destinations. First-time skiers are welcome, and professional instructors are available if needed.

Meet Reindeer in the Snowy Woods:
Head deep into the Northeast forest, where snow and timber cabins set the scene. Try on local folk costumes for photos, enjoy warm home-style dishes, and get close to the semi-wild reindeer.

Stay Overnight in China Snow Town:
Spend a night instead of rushing through. By day, see snow-covered cabins and distinctive “snow mushrooms”. At dusk, watch the red lanterns light up the village. If weather permits, spray boiling water for an instant ice effect or hike Yangcao Hill to catch sunrise over the snowy landscape.

Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in HarbinCentral Street and Harbin Ice &d Snow World
Welcome to Harbin! Your guide and driver will greet you at Harbin Airport or Railway Station, and then take you to a hotel in the city center to check in.
To allow time to visit Central Street and the Ice and Snow World, it is recommended to arrive in Harbin no later than 12:00 noon.
If you arrive early, first take the Songhua River Cableway to see the frozen Songhua River and the winter cityscape from above. You may also witness locals swimming in the river in winter.
Take a walk along Central Street. Capture photos of the century-old European-style buildings on both sides, such as Xiaoke Courtyard and Education Bookstore, and taste a Madi'er Popsicle. Eating ice cream is a local tradition and also a fun experience in winter for first-time visitors.
For lunch, have Russian-style Western cuisine and sample Harbin’s signature flavors.
Harbin Central Street with European style buildings Head to Harbin Ice and Snow World at dusk. After dark, large ice sculptures and ice buildings are lit. Allow enough time to explore the park. You can try two iconic projects, the 521-meter-long Super Ice Slides and the Snowflake Ferris Wheel, subject to the availability that year. From the Ferris wheel, get a panoramic view of the park.
Travel Tips: You need to stay outdoors for a long time at the Ice and Snow World, so wear a thick down jacket, insulated non-slip shoes, a hat, a scarf and gloves to keep warm.
- Day 2: Harbin to Erlanghe by Private VehicleYabuli Skiing and Quiet Forest Village Life Experience
Set out for Yabuli Ski Resort by private vehicle this morning, a journey of about 2.5 - 3 hours.
Enjoy a 2–3-hour skiing session on beginner runs. With gentle slopes, it is suitable for first-time skiers. If needed, you may hire a professional instructor at your own expense. Experienced skiers can also upgrade to other advanced slopes.
Go skiing at Yabuli Ski Resort After lunch, continue by road to Erlanghe. Reputed as the “Undeveloped Snow Town”, this village is quieter than Harbin and Yabuli. Stroll around to see the snow-covered wooden houses, forests and country roads. Try on the traditional folk costumes of Northeast China and take photos against the snowy landscapes.
Winter activities such as rafting on the unfrozen river, horse-drawn sledding, snowmobiling and snow tubing are also available. You can try the activities that interest you.
Stay overnight in a local guesthouse in Erlanghe and have a home-style Northeastern Chinese dinner, such as stews.
Notes: The accommodation in Erlanghe is usually simpler than that in downtown Harbin, but offers a more rustic, forest-village feel. If you prefer different lodging, discuss options with your travel consultant in advance.
- Day 3: Erlanghe to China Snow Town by Private VehicleSnow Town Walk and Night Views
Today, drive about 1 hour from Erlanghe to China Snow Town, travelling deep into Northeast China’s forest area. On a clear day, you can enjoy vast stretches of snow-covered forests and mountains along the way.
Walk along Xueyun Street and past the snow-laden wooden houses, roofs and courtyards. If you visit after a heavy snowfall, you can also photograph the mushroom-shaped snow formations on rooftops and wooden stakes, the "snow mushrooms" that Snow Town is known for.
Spend the afternoon at leisure. Taste some Northeastern snacks like frozen pears, frozen persimmons and grilled cold noodles. When the temperature and weather are suitable, you can also try splashing water to create "instant ice." Optional activities such as snowmobiles are also available.
It is suggested to stay out longer in the evening. After dark, the red lanterns hanging in front of the houses will light up one after another, creating one of the most enchanting scenes of the day.
Continue exploring Xueyun Street and then go up to the Fairy Tale World Viewing Walkway for a night view of the illuminated Snow Town. If there's a parade or a Northeastern Yangko dance performance, stop and watch.
With an overnight stay in Snow Town, you can take your time to wander around until evening.
Tips: Accommodation in Snow Town is in high demand from December to February, so book in advance. Please note that the room facilities here are more basic compared with hotels in downtown Harbin.
- Day 4: China Snow Town to Harbin by Private & Harbin DepartureMorning Walk, Reindeer Visit
If the weather is clear and you are willing to get up early, head to Yangcao Mountain for the sunrise. If you prefer a slower morning, take another walk on Xueyun Street after breakfast, when there are fewer tourists and Snow Town is quieter.
Watch sunrise at Yangcao Mountain After that, get a close look at the reindeer, feed and touch them. Continue to the nearby birch forest for a walk and photos.
Go back to Harbin by private vehicle. The drive is long in winter, and may take even longer in the event of snowfall.
After arriving in Harbin, you will be sent to the airport or railway station according to your flight or train time, ending your Harbin winter tour.
Departure tips: If you plan to leave Harbin on the same day, choose a late flight or train and allow enough time. If you are connecting to an international flight, consider staying an extra night in Harbin.
