4 Days Guilin Culture and Scenery Tour

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Guilin Arrival (No Meal)

   Arriving in Guilin, our local driver will hold a welcome board with your name at the airport or train station. Then you will board the private car and be escorted to your hotel in Guilin downtown area. (No tour guide service today)

2. Day 2: Guilin Ancient Town & Landmarks
   Discover Daxu's Ancient Charm and Guilin's Natural Wonders

   At 9:00 AM, your private guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel. Your tour in Guilin will begin with a visit to Daxu Ancient Town. This town is over 1,000 years old and is located on the east side of the Li River, about 23 kilometers from downtown Guilin. It was first built during the Northern Song Dynasty and was most active during the time of the Republic of China. You will explore the town for 2 to 3 hours, then enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch.

   

   In the afternoon, we drive back to Guilin city to visit the landmarks of the city.

   Elephant Trunk Hill is a large rock formation that looks just like an elephant drinking from the river. In addition to the unique shape, the area also has several interesting historical spots to visit, including stone carvings, a Buddhist temple, and a museum with ancient artifacts.

   Reed Flute Cave is 240 meters deep and took a very long time to form. Around a million years ago, it used to be an underground lake. Today, you can admire many amazing and colorful rock formations like stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars, and stone curtains. Many people call it a “Natural Artwork Palace”.

3. Day 3: Guilin to Yangshuo by Cruise Ship
   ‌Cruise Li River's Beauty, Stroll Old West Street

   In the morning, around 8:30 AM, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to Mopanshan Dock to catch the Li River cruise, which starts at 9:30 AM. You will take a 3-star cruise ship for this trip. The cruise takes about 4 to 4.5 hours, and a simple lunch will be served on board (You can also bring some snacks). Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of winding rivers, green karst mountains, countryside scenes, the scenery shown on the 20 RMB banknote and the famous Nine Horses Fresco Hill.

   

   At about 1:30 PM the cruise will end in Yanshuo Town. The driver will pick you up at the dock and send you to one of the top spots in Yangshuo – West Street. This street is about 1,400 years old. Your guide will walk with you along the street for around an hour. You’ll see traditional-style buildings, get a glimpse of local life, and you can try some local snacks if you want.

4. Day 4: Yangshuo Back to Guilin, Departure
   ‌Glide Past Karst Peaks on a Tranquil Bamboo Raft

   In the morning, check out your hotel in Yangshuo. Then board your private car and drive to experience the unique bamboo raft ride along Yulong River. It would be a totally different feel from the ship cruise on the Li River. Bamboo raft was the most common local vehicle for water carriage in the old days. During the 1-1.5 hours' bamboo raft ride, you will meet the beautiful karst peaks, rice fields, clear waters, and green bamboo.

   

   After lunch, you will be escorted back to Guilin airport or train station for departure. (We advise you book the flight/train departing Guilin later than 3:00 PM)
