  1. Morning: Humble Administrator’s Garden
    The first day is begun with a warm welcome from your private guide at Suzhou Railway Station. You’ll then go visit the 5.2-hectare Humble Administrator’s Garden, where winding pathways, ornate pavilions, and mirror-like ponds reflect classic Song and Ming design. Take time to spot its hidden rockeries and notice how the Pavilion of Fragrant Snow & Azure Clouds frames bamboo groves through moon gates—perfect for photos and peaceful contemplation.

    Midday: Shantang Ancient Street
    Stroll along this historic canal-side avenue, following the same flagstone path that inspired 9th-century poet Bai Juyi. Have a look in silk boutiques, and stop at Wufeng Xianyuan tea house for biluochun green tea paired with sweet osmanthus rice cakes. A short sampan ride offers a fresh canal perspective.

    Ascend Tiger Hill (Huqiu),Ā to see the 1,000-year-oldĀ Leaning Cloud Pagoda – Suzhou’s answer to Pisa. Hike the wooded slopes or take the cable car for sweeping views of Suzhou’s modern city fringes framed by ancient temple ruins.

  2. Morning: Suzhou Museum
    I.M. Pei’s modernist tribute to his ancestral home. This museum blends modern geometry with local white-washed walls and gray-tile roofs. Its galleries showcase Song-Dynasty paintings, Qing-era ceramics, and archaeological finds from the Yangtze Delta. Don’t miss the Zhenshi Studio gallery displaying Ming dynasty scholar’s rocks resembling mountain landscapes.

    Late Morning to Afternoon: Zhouzhuang Water Town
    Drive 45 minutes to Zhouzhuang, a thousand-year-old canal village. Board a hand-poled boat beneath Fuan Bridge’s (åÆŒå®‰ę”„) 1346 AD stone arches. Disembark at Shen House (ę²ˆåŽ…), a 1742 merchant mansion where carved beams depict the ā€œEight Immortals Crossing the Seaā€.
    Drive back to Suzhou in the late afternoon via Jinji Lake, watching skyscrapers light up in geometric patterns.

  3. After breakfast, journey two hours to Wuxi. At Lingshan, stand beneath the 88m bronze Grand Buddha depicting Maitreya. Explore the Brahma Palace with its intricate Hindu-inspired murals and the serene Nine-Dragon Bathing Pond. Watch the daily Nine Dragons Bathing Sakyamuni ritual (10 AM)–108 monks chanting as fountains dance around a 7-meter newborn Buddha statue.

    Afternoon: Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Isle)
    Cruise Taihu Lake (太湖) from Yuantouzhu (é¼‹å¤“ęøš), passing verdant hills, riverside villages and Turtle Head Islet, where 12th-century poets drank rice wine beneath peach blossoms. Look for cormorant fishermen practicing their 1,300-year tradition.

    After the Taihu Lake cruise, be escorted to the railway station to catch your train to Nanjing. Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will greet you at the train station and escort you to your hotel for check-in.

  4. Morning: Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum
    Climb 392 steps flanked by pines to Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum (中山陵). Learn how Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s ideals shaped modern China as you explore the memorial hall and tranquil ceremonial plaza.

    Late Morning: Ming Xiaoling Tomb
    Walk the 1.8km Sacred Way lined with stone warriors toward the emperor’s tomb mound. Then you can admire the intricate carvings of qilin and lions that guard this UNESCO site.
    Afternoon - Night: Confucius Temple & Qinhuai River
    Wander the ornate pavilions of Fuzimiao, try the imperial examination VR experience before browsing Jiangnan Gongyuan’s replica exam cells. Then board a traditional wooden boat for a golden-hour cruise along the Qinhuai River, passing lantern-lit bridges, teahouses, and riverside markets bustling with local snacks and crafts.

  5. Morning: Ancient City Wall of Nanjing

    Late Morning: Niushoushan Forest Park
    Next we’ll venture to this tranquil hillside complex. Descend 33 meters into the Usnisa Palace to see the world’s only parietal bone relic of Sakyamuni Buddha displayed under a 20-ton rotating lotus dome. Then pay a visit to the Grand Zen View Pagoda for sweeping city vistas, explore the Thousand Buddha Hall, and seek serenity at the cliff-side Guanyin Temple.
    Afternoon: Departure Transfer
    After a satisfactory lunch, your guide will ensure you a smooth ride to Nanjing Airport or Railway Station, leaving you with lasting memories of Jiangsu’s highlights.
