  1. This morning, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and driver at the train station. Then, be escorted to the famous Humble Administrator’s Garden, a classical gem dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Spanning 5.2 hectares, the garden boasts pavilions, bridges, ponds, rockeries, and lush vegetation. Here you can immerse yourself in its serene ambiance and marvel at the intricate architecture and landscaping.

    After the garden sightseeing, follow your guide to the Shantang Ancient Street to enjoy some leisure moments. Being built by the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi over a millennium ago, Shantang Street is a historic commercial street along the Shantang River, being lined with traditional shops selling silk products, antiques, handicrafts, and local snacks. Here you can seek some souvenirs, savor local snacks, or take a boat to enjoy the street scenery.

    In the afternoon, enjoy a venture to Tiger Hill (aka Huqiu), one of the top attractions in Suzhou, resembling a crouching tiger. You can hike up or hop on a cable car to get to the hilltop and enjoy a stunning panoramic view of Suzhou City. A highlight of the hill is the leaning pagoda, the symbol of Suzhou and the oldest pagoda in Suzhou dating back to the 10th century.

    Before returning to your hotel, take a visit to Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory, a working silk factory, and a museum showcasing the history and process of silk making in Suzhou. Follow your guide to see how silkworms are bred, how silk cocoons are selected and unraveled, how silk threads are spun and woven, and how silk products are made.

    At the end of the day, your guide and driver will escort you to your hotel in Suzhou for rest.

  2. After breakfast at your hotel, start your culture exploration today with a visit to Suzhou Museum. Being designed by the famous architect I.M. Pei, it is a museum being housed in historical buildings linked to the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. Here you can gain insights into diverse facets of Chinese culture from its over 30,000 pieces of cultural relics, ancient paintings and calligraphy, and ancient crafts from the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties.

    After the museum exploration, you’ll set out on a scenic drive to Zhouzhuang Water Town. Boasting a history of over 900 years, Zhouzhuang is one of the most beautiful water towns in China where you can see over 1,000 ancient dwellings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. You can wander through narrow alleys, take a boat on surrounding lakes or visit some of its historical sites to gain in-depth understanding of its history and local life.

    After the enriching exploration, drive back to Suzhou for rest.

  3. After breakfast, embark on a drive to Wuxi City.

    Start your Wuxi exploration at Lingshan Grand Buddha on the northern bank of Taihu Lake. Depicting Maitreya, the 88-meter-tall Buddha is the world’s largest bronze Buddha statue which is surrounded by three hills and faces Taihu Lake. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of Taihu Lake and explore many ancient ruins, like Five-signets Palace, and a Hindu inspired Brahma Palace south-east of it.

    Following the Buddha visit, head to Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Island), a beautiful peninsula resembling a turtle’s head emerging from the water. Besides its rich natural scenery and a long history of cultural and religious significance, Yuantouzhu is also a popular spot for cruising across Taihu Lake. You can hop on a boat to see various islands, hills, bridges, and gardens along the way, and learn about the history and culture of Wuxi from the commentary on board.


    After the Taihu Lake cruise, be escorted to the railway station to catch your train to Nanjing. Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will greet you at the train station and escort you to your hotel for check-in.

  4. Today, you’ll enjoy a captivating exploration of Nanjing's rich cultural heritage.

    Start your day with a visit to Zhongshan Ling, a mausoleum park dedicated to Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. The park covers an area of 3.5 square kilometers and has a statue of Sun Yat-sen in the center of its large square. You can learn Sun Yat-sen’s life, achievements, and philosophy after visiting the temples, pavilions, gardens, and museums in the garden.

    After that, follow your guide to visit Xiaoling, the mausoleum of the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, and his wife Ma. Covering about 116 hectares, the mausoleum stands as one of China's grandest imperial tombs, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It features Great Golden Gates adorned with stone carvings, a Sacred Way flanked by sculptures representing various Ming Dynasty aspects, and the impressive Da Jin Hall.

    Then, move on to the Confucius Temple (Fuzimiao), a former site of imperial examination hall on the banks of the Qinhuai River. This area now is not only a popular site to encounter many cultural relics and historical sites related to Confucianism and Chinese civilization, but also a vibrant pedestrian shopping street rich in local culture and life.

    At the end of the day, explore more of local life at Qinhuai River area, a tributary of the Yangtze River with a total length of 110 km. The river flows through central Nanjing and is praised as “Nanjing’s mother river”. You can ride a traditional boat to cruise along either inner rivers or outer rivers, and enjoy views of Nanjing City Wall, Jiangsu Nanjing TV Tower, historical buildings, gardens, pavilions, towers, folk culture and customs along both banks.

    After the cruise, be escorted back to your hotel.

  5. After breakfast, start today with a leisurely stroll on the Ancient City Wall of Nanjing. You will stroll along the Xuanwumen Section to see some of the original bricks that were used to construct the wall. You can admire the inscriptions on the bricks that record the changes of the wall over dynasties and reflect the multiculturalism of Ming Dynasty. You can also enjoy a panoramic view of the city and admire the views of Xuanwu Lake, which was created by damming a river inside the wall.

    After the time on city wall, you’ll be transferred to Niushoushan Forest Park. Though a newly opened park, its location has been a Buddhist site since the Tang dynasty (618–907AD), offering many historical temples. You can visit the Grand Zen View Pagoda, which offers a panoramic view of Nanjing city; the Thousand Buddha Hall, which houses more than 1000 statues of Buddha; and the Niushoushan Temple, which is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva.

    Enjoy free time at the park until your guide and driver pick you up for a seamless transfer to the airport or railway station for your departure.
