The Bund

When mentioning ā€œthe symbol of Shanghai,ā€ most people would immediately think of the Bund, whichĀ runs along the west bank of the Huangpu River. It’s lined with both elegant colonial-era buildings in Gothic and Baroque styles and also someĀ futuristic skylineĀ in Pudong district. Day or night, it’s a perfect spot to feelĀ how the old and modern days converge in this magical place.

Yu Garden (Yuyuan Garden)

Yu Garden, built in the years of Jiajing and Wanli of the Ming dynasty, was originally a private garden with elegant works of rockeries, ponds, pavilions, and winding corridors. Every corner of the site is, indeed, is delicately designed to show harmony between nature and human. The Exquisite Jade Rock and Grand Rockery are two must-sees inside the garden, so don’t miss them if you’d like to pay a visit to this place.

Shanghai Jinmao Tower

Located in the center of Lujiazui finance and trade zone, it offers a wide view of the modern urban scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River on its 88th sightseeing floor. Inside are upscale restaurants where you can dine with a skyline view.

Shanghai Museum

Standing on People’s Square, Shanghai Museum is shaped like a bronze ding, a symbol of ancient Chinese culture. Its galleries display relics including bronzes, ceramics, jade, and calligraphy which all together draw a picture ofĀ overĀ 5,000 years of history. It’s definitely a must-visit for art and culture lovers.

Jade Buddha Temple

Built in 1882, this peaceful temple allows youĀ to admire two jade Buddha statues from Burma. The seated Buddha’s calm expression and the scent of incense create a secret and tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Optional Activity: Huangpu River Night Cruise

In the evening, you can also take a 50-minute Huangpu River Night cruise, which takes you to glide along the river, and you’ll see some of the city’s most striking beauty, such as stunning night views of the illuminated Bund and the glittering skyscrapers of Lujiazui.

Today we will not appoint the restaurant. Our guide will recommend restaurants and dishes according to your interests. After the sightseeing, you will be escorted back to the hotel or dropped off at your appointed place. Your private Shanghai day trip ends here.
