1. Day 1: Arrival in Beijing

   Welcome to Beijing! Your private guide will pick you up on time and take you to your hotel for check-in.

   You are free to explore at your leisure for the rest of the day.

   Free Time Idea:

   Go to Shichahai to see the ‘Orange Sea’ scene. As the afterglow of the setting sun bathes the lake’s surface in shimmering gold, you can stand on the iconic Yindin Bridge, gaze out at the silhouette of the Western Hills, and savour the exquisite beauty of the ‘Yindin Bridge Viewing the Mountains’ scene.

   We’ll provide you with a Beijing food map to help you discover the most authentic flavors in Beijing.

2. Day 2: Beijing Highlights
   Traverse Imperial Palace, experience traditional life and make dumplings

   Start your family tour at Tiananmen Square, located in the center of Beijing. See the magnificent Tiananmen Gate Tower, a representative work of traditional Chinese architectural art. Meanwhile, your well-informed guide will share with you several significant events in Chinese history that occurred on this square.

   Next, walk for about 5 minutes to reach the Imperial Palace, a royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China, formerly known as the Forbidden City. Under the guidance of your tour guide, traverse the intricate palace complex.

   

   We will prepare a beautiful stamp booklet for your child to collect special commemorative stamps while visiting various halls, turning this visit into an interesting collection journey.

   Go to the narrow alleys of Beijing's hutongs to experience traditional old Beijing life. Visit a local family and learn to make dumplings.

   

   Optional Activities:

   You can also take your child to learn how to write calligraphy in a courtyard house; paint the clay sculpture of 'Rabbit God'; or draw a unique Peking Opera face mask.

3. Day 3: Beijing Great Wall
   Enjoy a scenic chairlift ride and toboggan down the Great Wall

   Visit the Temple of Heaven in the morning. This is a magnificent complex of imperial architecture that served as a place of worship for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to pray for peace and bountiful harvests. Then take a stroll through the nearby park to watch locals practicing Tai Chi and dancing, getting a glimpse into the daily morning routines of Beijing people.

   

   After that, drive to the world-famous Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall, an ancient engineering miracle surrounded by lush vegetation. When you ascend the Great Wall on the chairlift, your guide will tell you the rich historical stories of the Great Wall and the best photography spots. The winding paths of this UNESCO World Heritage site stretch endlessly. Experience the exhilarating toboggan slide down the Great Wall.

   

   In the evening, the tour guide will take your family out for Peking duck. Watch the chef skilfully carve the duck and learn from the waitstaff how to eat it properly.

   Warm Tip: Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult when using the toboggan to descend the Great Wall.

4. Day 4: Beijing Panda Visit
   See giant pandas and exotic animals from around the world

   Your Beijing family tour leads you to the Summer Palace. This was a summer retreat for the Qing emperors and their families, built on Wanshou Hill and Kunming Lake. On the shores of Kunming Lake, count the stone lions of various shapes on the Seventeen Arch Bridge. The enormous stone boat is permanently ‘moored’ by the shore, providing an excellent backdrop for children’s photographs.

   

   Afterwards, head to Beijing Zoo, one of the larger and more diverse urban zoos in China with a history of over a hundred years. The zoo is divided into three areas: east, south, and north. You will see giant pandas, golden monkeys, Northeast tigers, elk, red-crowned cranes, as well as representative animals from around the world such as chimpanzees in Africa, kangaroos in Australia, leopards, Mexican manatees, and more.

   

   Optional Activities:

   Enjoy a boat trip on Kunming Lake and admire the stunning reflections of Wanshou Hill and the Foxiang Pavilion.

   If you’d like to add a touch of fun, dress your children up as Qing dynasty princesses or princes to instantly ‘travel back in time’ to the bygone days of the imperial garden.

5. Day 5: Beijing to Guilin by Flight
   Explore stunning formations and the symbol of Guilin landscape

   After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, board a flight to Guilin. Start your Guilin trip at the Reed Flute Cave. There are numerous exquisitely carved stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars, and stone flowers inside the cave, like a magnificent underground palace. Scenes from the famous Chinese novel "Journey to the West" were filmed here.

   

   Next, visit the natural limestone sculpture Elephant Trunk Hill on the banks of the Li River. It is named after a giant elephant drinking from the Li River with its long snout. Elephant Trunk Hill is lifelike and a typical representative of Guilin's landscape. It was designated as the emblem of Guilin in 1995.

   Travel Tip: You and your children can go to Love Island Pier to board a bamboo raft and see this stone elephant drinking water up close.

6. Day 6: Guilin to Yangshuo by Cruise
   Enjoy a scenic Li River cruise and engage in pebble painting

   After breakfast, board the cruise ship on the Li River. The whole Li River cruise lasts about 4 hours, and you will enjoy lunch on the ship. During the journey, karst peaks covered in green vegetation can be seen everywhere. Under the guidance of your guide, see how many horses you can count on Nine-Horse Painting Mountain. Take family photos with the background of the Yellow Cloth Shoal - the scenery on the 20-yuan note.

   

   The cruise comes to an end in Yangshuo. A local driver will meet you at the pier and transfer you to experience the local culture by painting pebbles with acrylic paints, creating scenes of Guilin’s landscapes or cartoon designs. (Once dry, they can be taken away as an exclusive travel souvenir.)

   Optional Activities:

   During the cruise, you can order dishes made with fresh fish and shrimp caught from the Li River (provided you have no seafood allergies);

   Upon arrival in Yangshuo, if your children are fond of adventure, we can replace pebble painting with rock climbing.

7. Day 7: Yangshuo Rural Exploration
   Join a cooking class and enjoy bamboo rafting on a serene river

   Join a cooking class today. You will first visit a local farm product market to select fresh ingredients and then learn to cook traditional Chinese dishes under the guidance of an expert chef. Enjoy your 'achievements' as lunch.

   After that, experience interesting bamboo rafting along the peaceful Yulong River.

   Please note: Children under 1 metre in height are not recommended to take part in the bamboo rafting trip.

8. Day 8: Guilin to Hong Kong by Flight
   Embark on a countryside cycling tour through scenic landscapes

   Today is the last day of your China family tour in Yangshuo. Enjoy a countryside cycling tour through the scenic Ten-Mile Gallery lined with karst peaks. After that, visit a local farmer's home to get a glimpse of Chinese rural life and traditional farming.

   In the afternoon, catch a flight to the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong. It is renowned as the Pearl of the Orient and a shopping paradise!

   Recommended Evening Activity: Take a stroll along the famous Avenue of Stars, a picturesque waterfront promenade featuring views of Victoria Harbor and the city skyline.

9. Day 9: Hong Kong Highlights
   Take in the landscape of Hong Kong Island and enjoy family time at Ocean Park

   Start your Hong Kong tour with a visit to Victoria Peak, the highest point on Hong Kong Island. Many travel to Hong Kong just for its magnificent view. It offers a spectacular panorama of the city's skyline, the harbor, and the neighbouring islands. Ride the Peak Tram to the top.

   

   Next, head to a peaceful beach with a crescent shape, Repulse Bay, characterized by golden sand beaches and blue seawater. You can swim and take a walk here and there is a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva standing over ten meters high on the beach.

   After that, explore Aberdeen Fishing Village, a historical area known for its water-based scenery. You will experience a sampan boat ride (about 20-30 minutes), glimpsing the daily lives of the fishermen.

   Conclude the day with family fun at Ocean Park Hong Kong, where thrilling rides and marine exhibits await. Hong Kong Ocean Park is a world-class theme park that combines marine and land animals, amusement rides, and large-scale performances, and is also the most popular theme park in the world. Your children will immerse themselves here, watching various precious animals such as pandas, birds, and experiencing fun entertainment projects.

   

   Travel Tips:

   It is recommended that you sit on the right side for a better scenery when taking the Peak Tram up the mountain.

   There is a post office at the Peak, where children can send a postcard with a scenic postmark to friends back home.

10. Day 10: Hong Kong Departure

    Enjoy a leisurely morning in your hotel. Your driver will then escort you to the airport or train station, marking the end of your 10-day China family tour from Beijing. Hope you and your kids had an enjoyable time with China Xian Tour!
