Highlights of this tour
Guangzhou: Where Ancient Canton Meets Cyber-China
Appreciate the intricate clay sculptures of Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, and ascend the Canton Tower for a 360° sweep of Zhujiang New Area’s skyline. One city, two centuries colliding.

Shanghai: The Bund & Lujiazui, Side by Side
Stroll along the Bund as the century-old clock tower ticks across the Huangpu River. On the opposite bank, Lujiazui’s glass towers pulse with neon. East and West, past and future, separated only by a river.

Beijing: Imperial Grandeur and the Mutianyu Great Wall
Walk into the world-famous Forbidden City, where golden glazed tiles shimmer above 8,000 rooms of Ming and Qing dynasty power. Hike the lush, less-crowded Mutianyu Great Wall, then toboggan down the mountain.

Xi’an: Face to Face with Qin Shi Huang’s Terra-Cotta Army
Two thousand years ago, they were buried in silence. Stand before thousands of life-sized warriors — each face uniquely sculpted — and feel the majesty of China’s first emperor preserved in clay. The 8th wonder of the world, and it’s only in Xi’an.

Zhangjiajie: Step Into Avatar’s “Pandora Planet”
Take the cliffside Bailong Elevator directly into quartz-sandstone peaks that inspired Avatar’s floating mountains. Cross the fully transparent glass bridge suspended 300 meters above, with seas of cloud rolling through the valleys below. Nature’s masterpiece, untouched by human hands.

Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Day 1: Guangzhou Arrival
Welcome to Guangzhou! Your dedicated Guangzhou guide will pick you up at Guangzhou Airport or Railway Station. Then you will head to your hotel for a rest.
Free Time Idea:
Visit Guangzhou’s “urban living room” — Huacheng Square. Stroll south from the northern end of the square, passing iconic landmarks such as the Guangzhou Library and the Guangzhou Grand Theater along the way, and finally take a slow walk along the Pearl River.
- Day 2: Guangzhou HighlightsDiscover the old Guangzhou from its classic attractions
In the morning, head straight to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. This is not just an ancestral hall, but a “Folk Forbidden City” that encapsulates seven centuries of Lingnan craftsmanship. Take note of the ceramic ridge ornaments on the roof—those Shiwan figurines depict scenes from Water Margin (Shuihu Zhuan), while the gilded wood carvings and ivory sculptures in the halls will leave you in awe of the supreme craftsmanship embodied in the “three carvings, two sculptures, one casting, and one painting.”
Next, take a stroll on Shamian Island. Once a British and French concession, the afternoon sunlight filters through century-old banyan trees, casting dappled shadows on the Baroque and Gothic architecture. Find a corner café bar, watch the Pearl River flow quietly by, and let time seem to slow down.
The European Style Architecture of Shamian Island Walking through the intangible cultural heritage block of Yongqingfang is like opening a living Lingnan cultural encyclopedia. There are many intangible cultural heritage studios inside. For example, you can enjoy the myriad scenes painted by Guangzhou embroidery craftsmen with needles as pens and threads as inks at close range. You can also step into the movable type printing experience hall and touch the warm type.
What's more, you can visit the ancestral home of the martial arts superstar, Bruce Lee. Learn about his life and the interesting stories of his growth.
Interior Decor of Bruce Lee's Family Home Finally, ascend to the 108th floor of the Canton Tower and head to the 488-meter observation deck. This is the highest point accessible to tourists for sightseeing, offering a 360-degree unobstructed view of the entire Guangzhou cityscape. Photographers especially love this spot!
- Day 3: Guangzhou to Shanghai by FlightTake a boat tour of Shanghai’s best-preserved water town
Meet your driver in the hotel lobby and board a flight to Shanghai.
After arrival, your Shanghai tour guide will lead you to visit Zhujiajiao Water Town, the best-preserved water town in Shanghai. Stand on the top of a bridge and watch the setting sun tint the river golden, where the water town with its white walls and dark green tiles unfolds like a painting. Find a tea house by the river, order a pot of green tea, and watch time settle in the tea soup.
Shanghai Zhujiajiao Water Town scenery Optional Activity: Take a boat ride and enjoy the traditional architecture on both banks along the Shaogang River.
- Day 4: Shanghai HighlightsExperience both Shanghai’s modern vibrancy and old charm
Ascend to the Shanghai Tower and from the 118th floor, "the highest point of Shanghai", take in this megacity. Below your feet is the winding Huangpu River, and at this moment, you will witness what makes "the Magic City" so special.
Head to Yu Garden, this Ming Dynasty Jiangnan garden conceals the most poetic corners of Shanghai - Jade Crystal, Nine-Flume Bridge, and the Lake Center Pavilion. Each of these is the ultimate expression of Jiangnan aesthetics. Adjacent to it is the City God Temple & Yuyuan Bazaar, where you can try a bite of the crab paste steamed buns.
A solo traveler visited Yu Garden with China Xian Tour Next, head to the Former French Concession in Shanghai, which is the area with the most European-style charm in the city. The garden-style houses, the residences of famous figures, and the trendy spaces, all set against the backdrop of towering willow trees, make it an ideal place for a Citywalk.
Stroll along the Bund, where you can see the towering buildings of Lujiazui across the Huangpu River. The collection of international buildings stretches from the Waibaidu Bridge all the way to Jinling East Road. Each building has its own story - the jazz music at Peace Hotel, the bell tolls at the Customs Building, all are part of Shanghai's history.
Shanghai Skyline taken from the Bund Continue to walk along Nanjing Road, one of the great pleasures is to immerse yourself in those astonishing global flagship stores, such as M&M's Chocolate World, featuring the "world's longest M&M bean wall" — the colorful chocolate bean wall is perfect for taking photos, and you can customize exclusive rainbow beans; the Lego flagship store where the huge Oriental Pearl model and the Shanghai-themed display are not to be missed; and the Pop Mart global flagship store, a cyberpunk-style paradise of trendy toys.
- Day 5: Shanghai to Beijing by High-speed Train
After breakfast, your private driver will take you to Hongqiao Railway Station to board the high-speed train to Beijing.
Free Time Idea:
You can visit the Bird's Nest & the Water Cube, which are modern iconic landmarks in Beijing. The light show at night is very amazing, and it is a good place to take photos.
Light show time: Usually between 18:30-22:00 (may be extended in summer)
- Day 6: Beijing City ExplorationVisit the world’s largest palace complex and get a glimpse into the daily lives of the locals
Today's itinerary starts at Tiananmen Square. Being there, you can really feel the grandeur of the space. Pause for a moment in front of the Monument to the People's Heroes, and gaze at the Tiananmen Gate Tower down Chang'an Avenue.
Today's highlight is visiting the Forbidden City, which is the largest palace complex in the world with over 8,000 rooms. Walking north along the central axis, you can catch a glimpse of the imperial throne housed in the Hall of Supreme Harmony, as well as ancient cypresses and rocks in the Imperial Garden. You must be curious about how such a magnificent building was constructed.
The resplendent imperial throne in the Hall of Supreme Harmony Afterwards, go try the authentic flavors of Beijing, especially the most famous dish—Peking duck. Taste of a piece of roast duck from the hanging rack—the skin dipped in sugar, the fat melting in your mouth, it will definitely make you want more.
Beijing's signature dish - Peking Roast Duck Explore the Hutong alleys and be invited to visit a local family, where you can listen to the host tell the stories of the family and the daily life in the city that are hidden in time. Learn about the interesting stories of the local people's lives in Beijing.
Optional Activity:
You can choose to follow a professional master to learn traditional Chinese calligraphy. Or you can opt to have fun making dumplings yourself under the guidance of friendly elderly folks, from kneading the dough and rolling the wrappers to filling and pleating them.
- Day 7: Beijing HighlightsTake a cable car to the Mutianyu Great Wall and take in the stunning city views
Today, head to the Temple of Heaven. The Echo Wall, the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, and the Altar of Heaven - each of these buildings perfectly reflects the ancient Chinese concept of the universe as "round on top and square at the bottom".
When standing in the center of the Altar of Heaven and speaking softly, the echo comes back from all around, as if the sky is having a conversation with you.
After that, take a stroll around the nearby park, and you'll see many locals doing morning exercises, including practicing Tai Chi and square dancing.
Temple of Heaven under beautiful sunlight Then, move to the Mutianyu Great Wall instead of the Badaling Great Wall. This is because the watchtowers here are more densely distributed and the vegetation is more lush, earning it the reputation of "Mutianyu Great Wall stands alone among the thousand miles of Great Wall". Taking the cable car up the mountain and walking on the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, see the watchtowers winding like dragons along the steep mountain ridge. Standing at the Zhengguan Terrace - where three hollow watchtowers stand side by side - this form is extremely rare on the Great Wall.
A family of 4 at the Mutianyu Great Wall Optional Activity:
Choose to go down by the thrilling toboggan slide – the children are sure to love it. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by at least one adult.
- Day 8: Beijing to Xi’an by High-speed Train
In the morning, visit the Summer Palace, the largest existing imperial garden in China. Enter through the East Palace Gate, pass by the Renshou Hall, and ascend to the Foxiang Pavilion to overlook the bright Kunming Lake. Here, you not only enjoy the scenery but also embark on a journey of Eastern aesthetics through water, mountains, and paintings.
The Summer Palace's Tower of Buddhist Incense. After the tour, take the high-speed train to Xi'an. The local driver will warmly welcome you and escort you to the hotel for check-in.
Free Time Idea:
At night, stroll through Great Tang All Day Mall, a pedestrian street inspired by the glory of the Tang Dynasty. The most captivating are the ladies dressed in gorgeous Tang costumes. They wear exquisite hair buns and flowing robes, which is really fascinating.
- Day 9: Xi’an HighlightsGet an up-close look at the ancient capital's biggest attraction — the Terracotta Army
Your tour of the Emperor Qinshihuang's Terracotta Army Museum has officially started! First, the military formation in Pit No. 1 will make you hold your breath: about 6,000 terracotta figures, each with a different face. They once guarded Emperor Qinshihuang for two thousand years, and are still lined up here awaiting us today. The kneeling archers in Pit No. 2 and the command center in Pit No. 3 reveal the deployment of the Qin army.
The most interesting activity today is that you can go to a nearby factory to make a Terracotta Warrior, learn about the process of making a terracotta warrior, and even make a mini warrior to take home.
Our visitors are learning how to make a mini Terracotta Warrior Climb up the Xi'an Ancient City Wall and rent a bicycle for a ride. The setting sun colors the wall orange-red. Inside the city stand the Bell Tower and Drum Tower with their flying eaves, and outside are the glass facades of the high-rise buildings - history and modernity converge here.
Our tourist is cycling on the Ancient City Wall Enter the alleys of the Muslim Quarter. The real essence is not on the main street - turn into a little-known side street or alley, and here you can enjoy roujiamo, mutton soup buns, sesame sauce cold noodles, and persimmon cakes - every bite is the most authentic taste of Xi'an.
Warm Tip: Snacks are at your own expense.
Optional Activity: Cycling on the city wall is optional, and your guide can help you rent a bike on-site.
- Day 10: Xi‘an to Zhangjiajie by FlightExplore Xi’an Museum to learn about its history and culture
Today, move to visit the Xi'an Museum, where you will see bronze artifacts from the Western Zhou Dynasty, jade high-legged cups from the Qin Dynasty, Buddha statues from the Sui Dynasty, and finally, a Tang Dynasty tri-colored horse. The 3,000-year history of Chang'an as a capital and its transformations are vividly depicted in these cultural relics.
The Small Wild Goose Pagoda in the same scenic area is also worth a visit. It is a famous royal temple in the Tang Dynasty, surrounded by towering ancient trees, creating an extremely peaceful atmosphere. Due to fewer tourists and being quiet, it is perfect for strolling along the green brick path.
Stone arch bridge at Xi'an Small Wild Goose Pagoda Next, you will take a flight in the afternoon to Zhangjiajie. Your private guide and driver will pick you up at the airport in Zhangjiajie and take you to the hotel in Wulingyuan for rest.
- Day 11: Zhangjiajie HighlightsTake the cable car up Tianzi Mountain to look down on countless stone peaks
Go deep into Wulingyuan, take an eco-friendly vehicle to the bottom station of the Tianzi Mountain Cableway, and then board the cable car to ascend. Tianzi Mountain is the highest point of Wulingyuan and is known as the "King of Peak Forests". Standing on Tianzi Peak and looking down, you can see over three thousand stone peaks standing like swords and spears, with surging clouds flowing among the peak forests.
Zhangjiajie Tianzi Mountain sea of peaks Take the world's highest Bailong Elevator, built along the mountainside. At the moment the elevator emerges from the shaft of the mountain, the 48 stone peaks on the opposite side, resembling a "military assembly", rush towards you like an honor guard formation. This visual impact is something you cannot experience at all when taking the cableway.
Bailong Elevator in Yuanjiajie - the tallest outdoor elevator in the world Then explore the breathtaking Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, the prototype site of "Hallelujah Mountain" in "Avatar". You can experience the "Number One Bridge in the World" - the first of the "Ten Wonders" in Zhangjiajie. A natural stone bridge is formed between the two mountains, with a span of about 25-50 meters and a vertical drop of over 300 meters. It is the world's natural stone bridge with the largest vertical height difference. Standing on the bridge and looking down, you will see that it is deep and bottomless, and clouds float beneath your feet. Your legs may unconsciously become weak.
- Day 12: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon ExplorationStep onto the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge & take a boat ride through the underground river
Today, continue your journey to the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. This transparent bridge spanning two mountain peaks will also make your legs feel weak. Looking down at the 300-meter-deep canyon, it's a bottomless abyss below and peaks above. This ultimate experience will make your adrenaline surge.
The thrilling Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge Visit the Huanglong Cave, which is one of the longest karst caves in Asia. The stalactites inside come in countless shapes, with over 1,700 stalagmites. Take a boat through the underground river, with stone curtains formed over millions of years above your head. The lights transform the cave into a crystal palace, leaving you dazzled.
Take a boat ride in Yellow Dragon Cave and see the “river of stars” Drive about an hour back to the downtown hotel for rest.
- Day 13: Tianmen Mountain Scenic AreaTake the world's longest cable car through the clouds to Tianmen Mountain

Take the world's longest cable car to soar straight into the clouds - starting from the city area, you'll pass over the city, roads, and terraced fields before being shrouded in the mist. The Tianmen Cave is a natural wonder. The 999 steps lead to this gateway to the sky. Challenge the glass walkway - your feet are on a precipice of thousands of feet below. The mist drifts over your feet, making it a thrilling yet irresistible experience.
