Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Guangzhou Arrival
Welcome to Guangzhou! Your dedicated guide will pick you up at the exit and transfer you to the hotel by private vehicle.
Free Time Idea: If you prefer to see the "newest" side of Guangzhou, there are two highlights recommended. Visit Huacheng Square, known as the "city's living room," or admire the Canton Tower, also nicknamed the "little waist."
The Canton Tower is immediately striking at first glance - Day 2: Guangzhou HighlightsExplore the unique architectural culture of Lingnan region
Step into the rustic courtyards of the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, where you'll learn about vivid folk stories and gaze at intricate carvings on eaves, doors, windows, and wallsāincluding wood, stone, brick, and cast-iron decorations. You may have a new realization about the lifestyle or values of wealthy Guangzhou families in the 19th century.
Chen Clan Ancestral Hall in Guangzhou Stroll through the various stalls atĀ Qingping Market, browse many specialty goods such as traditional Chinese medicine, seafood, spices, and flowers.
Visit the 1,000-year-old Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. Walk into the temple and enjoy the quiet atmosphere amid ancient trees and Buddha statues, while appreciating the harmonious blend of classical architecture and religious art.
Then visit the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, a structure with sapphire blue glazed tiles built in 1931 that combines Chinese and Western architectural elements. Explore its exhibitions to learn about the historical connections between Sun Yat-sen and Guangzhou city.
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and the statue of Sun Yat-sen - Day 3: Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie by FlightTake the cable car to enjoy the ink-like landscape
Fly from Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, your tour guide and driver will meet you at the airport, and then drive about one hourĀ to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
Next, visit the living depiction of a "Chinese landscape painting"āTianzi Mountain. After ticket checks at the entrance, take the park shuttle to the Tianzi Mountain cableway station.
Glide smoothly up the mountain in the cable car, watching the misty valleys and towering peaks gradually unfold beneath you like a traditional ink wash painting.
Once you reach the summit, step onto the viewing platform, where you can see thousands of strange peaks rising from the ground, layered and stretching into the distance.
Zhangjiajie Tianzi Mountain sea of peaks After the tour, take the cableway down the mountain and then head back by car to your hotel in the Wulingyuan area to rest.
- Day 4: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park ExplorationRide the thrilling Bailong Elevator and enjoy the beautiful scenery
Youāll have a full day to explore natural wonders inside the national park. Take the thrilling Bailong Elevator up and down the mountain ā it not only saves a lot of time but also helps you conserve your energy.
The elevator runs straight against the mountainside, and as it moves, thereās a moment when you emerge from the mountain, opening up a wide view. The sudden shift from enclosed to open scenery is truly amazing.
Next, explore the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, the place that inspired the floating mountains in āAvatar.ā You can stroll at your own pace and discover more unusual mountains and landscapes, like the natural stone bridge that stretches between two peaks.
Bailong Elevator in Yuanjiajie - the tallest outdoor elevator in the world After that, learn about the story behind the āSky Fields.ā Itās a relatively lesser-known highlight, and you might find it hard to imagine that local residents once cultivated farmland on the mountaintop and lived there. Just a bit further ahead, youāll encounter breathtaking cliff faces.
Finally, continue to the Yangjiajie Scenic Area, where rows of parallel sandstone walls stretch out, looking like a hidden natural Great Wall from afar.
Unlike Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain, Yangjiajie has fewer visitors, maintaining a more original and peaceful atmosphere. Itās perfect for those who enjoy hiking, photography, and deep exploration.
After the tour, go back to your hotel. Rest well tonight to recharge for tomorrow's adventure.
- Day 5: Adventure on the Canyon Glass BridgeChallenge the world's longest all-transparent glass bridge and go boating on Baofeng Lake
After breakfast, experience the glass bridge at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. This bridge is currently the longest and highest all-transparent in the world.
The thrilling Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge Walking 300 meters above the canyon floor feels like strolling above the clouds, and it will definitely be one of the most exciting and unforgettable experiences of your trip.
Move toĀ Baofeng Lake. Unlike looking up at the peaks from land, here you can take a wooden boat to explore deep into the canyon. Enjoy a relaxing time. In the clear waters, you can see reflections of the uniquely shaped peaks on both sides.
If you're lucky, you may watch a live cormorant fishing performance, a tradition with a history of over a thousand years. With a shout from the old fisherman, the cormorants dive into the water like arrows released from a bow.
Drive for one hour from Wulingyuan to the hotel in Zhangjiajie city for accommodation.
Optional Activity: Watch the large-scale live musical drama "Tianmen Fox Fairy" at night. With the passionate performance of over 500 actors, it is set against the backdrop of the majestic Tianmen Mountain, allowing you to listen to the fantastical love story.
- Day 6: Tianmen Mountain Tour and Zhangjiajie DepartureStroll along the cliff-top glass walkway and discover the mist-spewing spectacle at Tianmen Cave
Take the world's longest mountain cable car for about half an hour and start your cloud journey on Tianmen Mountain. Unlike the glass bridges in other scenic spots, the glass walkways at Tianmen Mountain are embedded into a sheer cliff face thousands of meters high. Walking on them, youāll be suspended above an abyss, especially on the western walkway, where the panorama is wide and thrilling.
Next, visit the iconic natural mountain cave ā Tianmen Cave. This wonder is about 130 meters high and shaped like a gateway to the sky. You might also get to witness one of the most anticipated natural wonders ā the mist exhaled from Tianmen. After a fresh rain, the clouds flow out of the cave like a white dragon, mighty and majestic, as if the sacred mountain itself is breathing.
A natural rock arch - Heaven's Gate Cave in Tianmen Mountain When the tour ends, weāll arrange a private car to take you to the airport. It's time to say goodbye. Wish you a pleasant journey.
