- Day 1: Chongqing City HighlightsChongqing’s History, Iconic Light Rail, Spectacular Night Views
Your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel or Chongqing airport, holding a welcome sign for easy identification. Then set off to see Chongqing, a mountain city known for its terrain.
Begin at the Three Gorges Museum. Learn about the geological changes and shipping history of the Three Gorges through cultural relics, historical photos, and films. Look at fossils of the "Wushan Man" on the 2nd floor to trace the origins of civilization in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. There are also paintings and photos showing Chongqing's history and daily life.
Exhibitions in Three Gorges Museum After the museum, step outside onto the square and take a look at the Great Hall of the People. Red columns, green-tiled roof, a round hall inspired by classical Chinese design — it really stands out against Chongqing's modern skyline.
Hop on the light rail to Liziba Station, one of those classic Chongqing sights. On the ride there, you'll have the Jialing River on one side and layers of residential buildings climbing the hills on the other.
As the train passes directly through a residential building, watch closely for the moment it enters the block. After getting off, walk to the viewing platform across the street and photograph the scene of the train entering and emerging from the building.
Light rail through buildings scene in Liziba Station Afterward, head to Kuixinglou, a spot that shows why locals call this an 8D city. You can enter the building from four different streets at four different levels. When walking out of a shopping mall onto what you think is the 1st floor, you are actually on the 22nd floor.
As evening approaches, make your way to Hongya Cave for the city’s most eye-catching night view. Built along the hillside overlooking the Jialing River, this complex of traditional stilted buildings has wooden balconies and layered walkways.
When the lights come on after sunset, the entire complex glows gold against the night sky. To take photos of the illuminated buildings, the viewing platform on the 1st floor across the street and Qiansimen Bridge are good spots.

- Day 2: Old Chongqing ExplorationAncient Towns, Yangtze by Cableway and Historic Neighborhoods
Today's tour starts at Ciqikou Ancient Town, which is a historic riverside town known for its traditional architecture, narrow stone-paved lanes and local snacks. You will walk past old-style shops and tea houses, try some local specialties (at your own expense), such as crispy twisted dough sticks.
Experience a unique mode of transport - Yangtze River Cableway. As the cable car moves above the river, enjoy a different perspective of the water, bridges, and high-rise buildings on riverbanks and see how the city stretches across the hills.
Fly Across the Yangtze River by Cable Car Continue to Longmenhao Old Street. Built along the mountainside, this historic neighborhood preserves a large number of Western-style buildings from the early days of the port’s opening, such as the former site of the French Yongxing Trading Company and the Belgian Consulate. Wander to Lanyue Terrace to capture the Dongshuimen Bridge, the Yangtze River Cable Car, and the Yuzhong Peninsula all in one frame.
Former site of the French Yongxing Trading Company at Longmenhao Old Street Xiahaoli, a 10-minute walk from Longmenhao, reveals the character of old Chongqing and offers a more leisurely atmosphere. Take your time wandering through stone-paved narrow alleys to see the old stilt houses, streams and waterfalls and discover the creative stores and cafés tucked into old courtyards.
After the visit, your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport or train station for your onward journey, bringing your Chongqing tour to an end.
Optional Activity: Attend Chongqing 1949, a large-scale immersive production set against the historical backdrop of Chongqing in 1949, telling the story of revolutionaries held in Zhazidong and Baigongguan.
