Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Chongqing City Tour
In the morning, your private guide will pick you up at airport, train station or your downtown hotel at the agreed time. And the first stop of our Chongqing tour begins at the antique Ciqikou Ancient Town. It’s in the center of Chongqing and it is a well-preserved ancient town famous for the Ming and Qing Dynasty style architectures, which carry a long history and rich culture.
Most of the buildings here are two-story or three-story with wooden or brick structures. And you’ll feel the beauty lying under their rustic and elegant appearance. In this town, you can enjoy a lot of things including traditional Sichuan opera, commentary and other folk art performances, as well as taste a variety of authentic Chongqing cuisine.

Ciqikou Ancient Town Continue your Chongqing city tour to Three Gorges Museum, which is just on the west side of People's Square. The museum has a collection of tens of thousands of various cultural relics, such as Bashu bronzes and Han Dynasty sculpture artifacts, which perfectly show the developing history of this mountainous city. Here you can take a glimpse of Chongqing's ancient civilization, trace the roots of its 3,000 years of culture, and learn about its urban changes over the past hundred years.
After lunch, we’ll go to visit the Chongqing Light Rail. Which is probably the most unique scene you can see in this city. And indeed, it’s unlikely for you to see this scene anywhere else outside Chongqing. Liziba Station is the highlight of this impressive exploration. You will witness the train shuttling through the body of residential buildings. And your local guide will point out the best places for you to take photos.

Liziba Light Rail Next, transfer you to E'ling Park, the highest point of Chongqing city. Originally, it was built as a private garden during the late Qing Dynasty, and now, after hundreds of years, the park is one of the city’s best scenic spots for sweeping views. Stroll through its peaceful pavilions and bamboo groves along winding paths, and you’ll eventually see the several lookout terraces. On clear days, you can even spot the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers glistening below, and when the sun sets, the skyline bursts into golden light, it’ll then become a perfect place for you to capture sunset photos.
Hongya Cave, the city's most famous night scene, is the last stop of your today’s Chongqing tour. It is a real existence for the romantic scene you’ve seen in Miyazaki Hayao’s anime. The stilted buildings leaning against the cliffs, embed their bodies harmoniously into the hills with drops about 75 meters and get embraced into the hug of the soft river. Especially when it lights up at night, Hongya Cave seems to come into life when rosy lights flow from the windows.
After the visit, your guide will escort you to the airport/train station/dock to your next destination.
