Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Zhangjiajie

   Hello, welcome to our 7-day group nature tour to Zhangjiajie and Guilin! When you arrive at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, your driver will be waiting with a sign - “China Xian Tour” at the arrival exit to transfer you to the hotel in Wulingyuan. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy on your own. If you need any suggestions in your free time, we will be very happy to help you.

2. Day 2: Avatar Exploration
   Enjoy Unique Rock Formations & A Thrilling Elevator Ride

   After breakfast, your tour guide and driver have been waiting for you in the hotel lobby. They will first take you on a ride of Bailong Elevator (the world's tallest elevator of that kind) to Yuanjiajie. Imagine a place guarded by rocky peaks and misty mountains, facing the valley peaks. Key attractions you will visit are the Enchanting Platform (Mi Hun Tai) and the First Bridge Under Heaven. Movie enthusiasts may recognize the landscape here - it inspired the Hallelujah Mountains in the film Avatar. You might feel as if you’ve entered the movie itself!

   Your next stop is the Tianzi Mountain. It's one of the 4 scenic spots in Wulingyuan area. The mountain covers a total area of over 5,400 hectares, with its highest point, Tianzi Peak, about 1,262.5 meters (4,142 feet) high. A sightseeing bus takes you up the mountain top. Get your cameras ready to record a spectacular view of the strange peaks! He Long Park, Imperial Brush Peaks, and Commanding Terrace are the highlights here. After all visits, take the cable car down the mountain.

   After the whole day exploration, you will be sent back to your hotel for a good overnight rest.

3. Day 3: Tianmen Mountain & Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
   Experience World's Longest Cableway, Sky Walk & Glass Bridge Views

   Today’s adventure takes you to Tianmen Mountain in the morning, a scenic area characterized by typical karst mountain scenery. To save energy and time, you have been arranged to take a cable way up the mountain. This isn't just any cable car ride; it's the longest passenger ropeway in the world, 7,455 meters with a height difference of 1,279 meters. Do not forget your camera ready along the way.

   Once getting off, some must sees await you, such as the thrilling Glass Skywalks on the cliff and the Tianmen Mountain Temple (the Buddhism center of western Hunan). After that, take the escalator through the mountain down to the Tianmen Cave. It’s a rare high-altitude natural cave, measuring 131.5 meters high and 57 meters wide. Challenge walking the tough 999 steps that hits a steep 45 degree incline to the Heaven’s Gate.

   

   After lunch, we are going to a natural museum - Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon - where there are mountains, rivers, waterfalls, and caves together. The main experience here is the Glass Bridge. 430 meters long, it’s the world's longest and highest transparent bridge. Walking on it requires a bit of courage, but the reward is worth it. When you are on the glass floor, a panoramic view of thick forests & flowing streams will impress you a lot. After that, we drive towards the city center. In 1.5 hours, reach your comfortable hotel so you can relax and rest.

4. Day 4: Zhangjiajie to Guilin by High-speed Train
   Reed Flute Cave's Stunning Formations and Historic Elephant Trunk Hill

   When breakfast is over, it’s time to say farewell to Zhangjiajie! Your driver will send you to the railway station, where you will board a bullet train for Guilin. This wonderful city boasts the appropriate title of "the best landscape under heaven." Upon arrival, your local driver and guide will greet you, and the exploration will begin!

   So, where to first? We'll dive into the incredible Reed Flute Cave. People call it the Palace of Natural Arts. When you step inside, it is into an entirely different world. It is an artist: over millions of years, it created each exquisite stalactite and stalagmite. Some of the formations start from the ceiling and some grow from the floor, to connect with them. You will even see fragile, translucent stone flowers and columns, all festooned with colored lights. It truly looks like a grand palace made by nature.

   Elephant Trunk Hill, the most iconic sight in Guilin, will be your next destination! You can likely infer the reason for its name - an elephant drinking water through its trunk is the shape that it takes. And talking about centuries, this is not a new hot spot. This place has been a magnet for tourists since the Tang and Song dynasties! Just imagine, for more than a thousand years, people have been standing in the same place as you are now, enjoying the same view. After the visit, escort you to the selected downtown hotel.

5. Day 5: Longji Rice Terraces
   Hike the Breathtaking Rice Terraces & Learn about Local Culture

   Today, you will enjoy a day trip to Guilin rice terraces. From the foot of the mountain base, your guide will lead you to walk around 35-40 minutes to Ping'an Village. The village is inhabited by Zhuang population and fully preserves ethnic culture such as textile skills and festival cuisine. This place is right home to the nationally renowned, 650-year-old Longji Rice Terraces. Your eyes will be treated with a spectacular view of the green/yellow (depending on your travel season) cascading sea of the terraced fields.

   The extensive area of rice paddies in terraces which have been cultivated for centuries by the Yao, Zhuang and other ethnic minorities, is one of the most attractive landscapes in China for visitors. The picturesque area is especially liked by outdoor hikers and photographers.

   There are several ethnic minority villages scattered here. You will be led to visit a village of the Red Yao ethnic group, famous for the tradition of wearing long hair. Amazingly there are more than 60 women here with hair over 1 meter in length. If you are interested, you can pay extra to enjoy this village's unique long hair show (optional). After that, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

6. Day 6: Li River Cruise to Yangshuo
   Enjoy a Scenic 4-hour Li River Cruise from Guilin

   In the morning, meet your tour guide and driver in your Guilin hotel at around 08:30 and then transfer to Mopanshan Dock of Li River to catch the cruise ship starting at 09:30.

   We will board a 3-star cruising ship and the whole Li River cruise lasts about 4-4.5 hours. During the cruise period, you will have a outer visit of the highlight sites in Guilin. Witness one of the most beautiful work by nature.

   Friendly tips: It is suggested that you have a hearty breakfast at the hotel and bring some snacks, as only a simple box lunch is provided on board.

   At about 13:30, the cruise will end in Yanshuo. The local driver will meet you at dock and transfer you to the must-go place - West Street. Take a walk in this 1,400-year-old street for about 1 hour to see lots of ancient style buildings, see local people's life and try some local food if you like.

7. Day 7: Departure from Guilin

   Today is your final day of this 7-day Zhangjiajie Guilin tour. You have the morning free to relax at your own pace.
