Good morning! Meet your guide and driver at your hotel and then begin exploring Guangzhou at Yuexiu Park, a great place for a walk. Here you'll see the famous Five Rams Statue, the symbol of the city. Nearby stands the red, five-storey Zhenhai Tower, now the Guangzhou Museum. Inside, you can learn about the city's 2,000-year history, and if you would like, climb the tower for a wide view of urban Guangzhou. Next, visit the impressive Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Your guide will tell you about Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who is considered the Father of Modern China. Understand his important role in the nation's history.
You will then go to Liurong TempleĀ (Temple of the Six Banyan Trees) which is nearly 1,500 years old. During the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279), the famous poet Su Dongpo visited here and saw six old banyan trees. He wrote the words āSix Banyan,āĀ and from then on, people began calling it Six Banyan (Liurong in Chinese) Temple.

This morning, you will first visit Shamian Island, which was once an important commercial port in Guangzhou. The island is 862 meters long from east to west and is the most exotic European architectural complex in Guangzhou. Therefore, this place is also known as the 'open-air museum'. Walking onto the island, one is greeted by over 150 European style buildings, including 42 distinctive Neo Baroque, Gothic, Neoclassical, and a combination of Chinese and Western styles. Understand the past stories of the island and appreciate many ancient and famous trees.
After the visit, we go to Qingping Market. Initially, it was a market for agricultural and sideline products. By the end of the 1980s, its subordinate traditional Chinese medicine market had developed into the earliest and only specialized market for traditional Chinese medicine located in the center of a major city in China. The tour guide will take you to learn about the daily regimen of Guangdong people by browsing through different types of Chinese herbs. Next is lunchtime.
