Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Guangzhou HighlightsExplore Guangzhou: A Journey Through Time and the Modern Era
Welcome to our 2-day highlights tour of Guangzhou! Your local tour guide will meet you at your hotel.
Begin your sightseeing at Yuexiu Park. As Guangzhou’s largest park, it features a green coverage area exceeding 600,000 square meters, a truly Guangzhou’s “green lung.” Step into the park. A natural oxygen bar awaits. Deeply relax, body and mind. Step up to the Five Rams Statue. Listen to the fascinating legend behind it. See why Guangzhou is known as the "City of Rams."
Five Rams Statue, Yuexiu park Guangzhou scenic view Next, pass by Zhenhai Tower — commonly known as the “Five-Story Tower.” (Now it becomes Guangzhou Museum) Built by Cantonese ancestors to command the coastal waters, ward off storms, and safeguard the region's peace, it has been a landmark of Guangzhou for centuries. You can also climb to the top of the tower to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city of Guangzhou.
Exiting the South Gate of Yuexiu Park, find the majestic Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall directly across the way. This grand structure was built to honor Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Look up to see the exquisite octagonal glazed dome shimmering in the sunlight.
Continue to the Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King. There, you can see many of the museum’s crown jewels. They date back over thousands of years. For example, the Emperor’s Imperial Seal, crafted entirely of pure gold; the jade burial suit, composed of 2,291 jade pieces; a jade cup shaped like a rhinoceros horn, carved from a single block of blue jade.
A jade cup shaped like a rhinoceros horn Move on to Pearl River New Town to walk around Huacheng Square, renowned as Guangzhou’s “urban living room” and the city’s largest public square. The surrounding area features 39 landmark buildings, including the Guangzhou Library, the Guangzhou Grand Theatre, and the Guangdong Provincial Museum.
The square offers expansive views; walking along the central axis provides an unobstructed view of the Canton Tower — nicknamed “Little Waist” — and also frames the Chow Tai Fook Financial Center and the Guangzhou International Finance Center, together forming the 3 major CBD landmarks. At night, the square’s lights blend seamlessly with the surrounding architecture, making it an ideal spot for photos and social media posts.
