1. Day 1: Guangzhou Night Tour

   At 6 PM, your journey begins at Huacheng Square known as Guangzhou’s “urban living room.” As the city’s new central axis, it is flanked on both sides by 39 towering skyscrapers and public cultural buildings arranged symmetrically, together forming the axis’s spectacular skyline. Stroll along the tree-lined boulevard in the center of the square and admire the grandeur of the skyscrapers while enjoying the gentle breeze.

   As night falls, you'll likely be drawn first to the Canton Tower ("Little Waist"), which stands at the end of the New Central Axis. Simply stand at the southern end of Huacheng Square to take in a panoramic view of this 600-meter-tall, dazzlingly lit city landmark. With its slender tower standing tall under the brilliant lights, any photo you take will turn out beautifully.

   

   The adjacent Guangzhou Library resembles a giant book slowly unfolding; its undulating glass facade reflects enchanting patterns of light and shadow under the nighttime lights. Step inside the library to experience this city’s public reading space up close.

   Not far away is the Guangdong Provincial Museum, a new cultural landmark in Guangzhou. Its exterior resembles a giant cube shaped like the "Moonlight Treasure Box," and at night, warm golden lights clearly outline its openwork patterns.

   

   Next, gaze up at a postmodern futuristic building designed by the world-famous architect Zaha Hadid—Guangzhou Opera House, whose irregular, streamlined exterior resembles two pebbles washed by the waters of the Pearl River, giving it a distinctly futuristic feel. By making use of the gaps and structural elements of the building, you can take interactive photos with a strong sense of design.

   The journey will reach its climax with a romantic night cruise on the Pearl River. As the cruise ship slowly sets off, stand on the deck and feel the river breeze against your face, and watch the dazzling lights along the banks shimmer on the rippling water. The landmarks you saw before—Huacheng Square, Canton Tower, the Library, and the Grand Theatre—now turn into a moving scene, flowing past you one by one.

   Finally, your glance will then drift toward the old city as you step onto Beijing Road Pedestrian Street. This is not only a bustling commercial center but also the very site where Guangzhou’s urban development began. Deep within the pedestrian street, you can see the Giant Buddha Temple standing quietly. As the evening lights come on, the temple’s tiered pavilions—a millennia-old structure—exude a breathtaking sense of solemnity, illuminated by warm yellow lights. Many people go there to pray, make a wish, and ask for good fortune, a romantic partner, or peace and safety.
