1. Day 1: Guangzhou Highlights
   Get to know Guangzhou's local culture, history, and lifestyle through the iconic landmarks

   When you step out of the airport, your private guide will be waiting to pick you up and take you straight to the city's top attractions. The tour usually takes around 7-8 hours, but we can always customize the pace based on your transit time.

   Your first highlight of this Guangzhou city trip is the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the pinnacle of Lingnan architectural art. Be sure to look up — there are thousands of ceramic and clay figures on the roof ridge, most inspired by Cantonese opera scenes, each with distinct expressions and vibrant colors.

   Note that the brightly colored ones are clay sculptures, while the more muted, ancient-looking ones are ceramic. To make your visit more engaging, try exploring with a “mission” to spot certain details. On the 20-meter-long ceramic ridge, look for quirky, non-traditional little animals, like fighting Shiwan dolls, squirrels stealing grapes, or even a Tang dynasty beauty holding an umbrella.

   

   After leaving the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, take a stroll along the picturesque Lychee Bay. Along the bay, you can see many huge ancient banyan trees lining the shore, wooden boats floating gently on the calm water, flanked by historic buildings and temples.

   After that, taste authentic Cantonese cuisine: instead of going to those trendy spots with long lines, experience the real 'dim sum' culture. You can sit in a tea house, order a pot of tea, a basket of crystal-clear shrimp dumplings and BBQ pork buns, some springy water chestnut cake.

   

   After a satisfying meal, it's just the right time to stroll along the Lychee Bay Grand Theater to digest. You also have the opportunity to enjoy the daily live public performances at the Lychee Bay Grand Stage. During the performances, sit under a big banyan tree — both elderly locals hum along, and young people record videos with their phones. This 'community listening to opera' vibe is the biggest highlight here.

   In Lychee Bay Museum, check out the 'most beautiful spiral staircase': inside the Exhibit Hall No.1, there’s a highly cinematic spiral staircase. With the Baroque-style curved balcony and European-style colonnade, any snapshot you take looks like a scene from a movie.

   

   Visit the folk museum converted from a typical Xiguan mansion, and explore the true face of old Guangzhou amid the deep blue-brick foundations and sliding doors. Stroll through the shadows cast by the furniture and Manchu-style windows, listening to the old stories of Xiguan ladies in their chambers.

   Continuing to Yongqing Fang, this is a cultural district that perfectly blends the style of old Xiguan with modern trends. Here, you will see Lingnan architectural features such as green brick arcades and sliding wooden bar gates, as well as explore intangible cultural heritage and popular small shops, and taste authentic Guangzhou snacks.

   Don't miss the Cantonese Opera Art Museum, which features iconic red walls with bamboo shadows (perfect for portraits), reflections of Guangfu Platform in the water, and pavilions with distinct Lingnan characteristics.

   If you’re interested in Chinese kung fu, visit Bruce Lee’s ancestral home! This is the former residence of Bruce Lee’s father, Lee Hoi-chuen, restored to reflect the style of the old Xiguan houses. Inside, there are old photos of the Lee family and movie props. You can also explore Bruce Lee’s growing-up story.

   

   Finally, visit Guangzhou’s 'urban living room' — Huacheng Square. It's a perfect place to experience the essence of modern urban life and leisure in Guangzhou. Not only does it offer a wide-open view, but it’s also the central point connecting many cultural landmarks around.

   You can find a great spot to capture Guangzhou’s new central axis: the Canton Tower (the 'Slim Waist'), the East Tower (Chow Tai Fook Center), and the West Tower (Guangzhou International Finance Center) in the same frame. Walking to the south end of the square, you can photograph the perfect reflection of the Canton Tower in the landscape lake.

   

   At the end of your trip, you will be transported back to the airport to continue your journey.
