Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Guangzhou ArrivalEncounter blossoms of various flowers on a sunny spring day.
Welcome to our 4-day spring flower tour! Your private guide will pick you up at your hotel.
Start at Guangxiao Temple. The temple is unusual because visitors are encouraged to offer fresh flowers to the Buddha instead of burning incense.
Several golden trumpet trees in the courtyard are in full bloom (from March to April), with their clusters of golden, bell-shaped blossoms hanging from the branches. Find the ancient kapok trees further inside the temple grounds. Such a scene is very vibrant against the templeās time-worn red walls and dark-tiled roofs.
Next, go to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, whose main building features an octagonal palace-style structure crowned with blue glazed tiles. What impresses you in spring are the fiery red kapok blossoms around the hall. (P.S: the best photo spot is at the northeast corner of the grounds).
Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Afterward, wander along Lingyuan West Road, and enjoy the red flowers lining both sides of the street.
Spring always surprises you with gorgeous blooms: soft pink bauhinias, delicate cherry blossoms, and elegant magnolias. These lovely flowers make up the magnificent springtime portrait of Guangzhou.
More fun activities:
Visit a quiet studio on Beijing Road, and make a woolen flower by hand.
Take a Pearl River night cruise. You can see modern skyscrapers and the illuminated Canton Tower as the ship glides gently along the waterway.
- Day 2: Guangzhou to QingyuanVisit Qingyuan for an exhilarating experience amid breathtaking scenery.
Begin at Gulong Gorge Scenic Area, which is composed of high-altitude adventures, spectacular waterfalls, and lush forests. Walk on a mountain path toward the Gulong Nine Falls, find various flowers blooming on both sides of the trail, and inhale the fresh air with the scent of plants and soil.
Gulong Nine Falls As the sound of rushing water becomes clear, several streams of water cascade down steep cliffs. This is the country's highest-drop stepped waterfall group.
Yuntianboba (the Sky Cloud attraction) holds multiple world records, including the largest and highest glass platform, and the longest and widest glass bridge. The outdoor escalator with the greatest vertical drop in the world, called the Peak-Reaching Elevator, is ready to raise you to Sky Cloud Platform, which sits at 530 meters, in just 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
Then walk forward to the "UFO" viewing platform that is suspended in mid-air, and see a colossal waterfall cascading down and roaring into the deep valley below.
Walk down the mountain along a peaceful plank path once you've finished your exploration of Gulong Gorge. Then drive back to your hotel in Guangzhou for a good rest.
Optional activities:
Another highlight is the canyon rafting. Hop into a kayak and race down the fast-flowing river, with verdant mountains and dense forests rushing past on both sides.
When descending from the UFO platform, you can save energy by taking the thrilling slide instead of walking.
- Day 3: Foshan Cultural ExplorationEnjoy a double delight of culture and cuisine in Foshan.
Once you step into the Foshan Ancestral Temple, it feels like entering a living gallery of Lingnan architectural art. The rolling "wok-ear" gables, shaped like traditional official hats, stretch across the rooftops. Meanwhile, the intricate wood and stone carvings, and the colored ceramic figures can be seen on the ridge.
Later, watch an exciting lion dance performance. The "lion" nimbly leaps onto high poles, shaking its head and blinking its eyes. Every movement not only demonstrates superb skill but also conveys blessings of good fortune to the audience.
Lion Dance Performance Afterward, discover the roots of Lingnan kung fu. Under the instruction of a master, practice the basic moves of kung fu, from standing with fists clasped to punching and completing the moves.
In the afternoon, visit Qinghui Garden, one of the four most famous classical gardens in Lingnan. Wander along the winding corridors, take a short rest at a waterside pavilion, watch koi fish swimming in the pond, and admire the blooming magnolias, mango flowers, and weeping crabapples.
Qinghui Garden In addition, climb up to the Fenglaifeng rockery to overlook the entire garden layout. Immerse yourself in the quiet harmony surrounded by grey tiles and green trees.
Finally, make your way to Huagai Pedestrian Street, where the air is filled with the aromas of local snacks. Your guide will treat you the double-layered milk pudding, whose top layer is fragrant and firm, while the bottom layer is luxuriously smooth. Browse the shops selling local specialties and experience authentic Cantonese market life.
Once you finish the visit, come back to Guangzhou for a relaxing evening.
- Day 4: Guangzhou DepartureDiscover the wonderful past and attractive present of Guangzhou.
Todayās highlight is Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the largest and most exquisite ancestral hall in Lingnan. It is renowned for the "Seven Lingnan Arts": wood carving, stone carving, brick carving, ceramic sculpture, lime sculpture, copper and iron casting, and color painting.
Chen Clan Ancestral Hall When you wander in the courtyard, find the purple magnolia, a purplish-red flower. Its blossom makes the ancestral hall one of Guangzhou's four legendary spring scenes.Ā Moreover, the brilliant red blossoms at the top of the towering kapok tree add vibrant life to this century-old ancestral hall.
Next, take a ride on the riverside tram along Guangzhou's most beautiful flower route. Through the windows, you can see golden bell blossoms, pink-purple bauhinia flowers, and dark-red kapok blossoms, as if you have wandered into a springtime scene straight out ofĀ an anime.
Afterward, ascend to the observation deck on the 108th floor of Canton Tower, where a breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire city unfolds before you. From this height, you can see the vast flower exhibition below as a magnificent three-dimensional painting.
Your journey comes to an end here. Your guide will take you back to your hotel. If you need to be transferred to the airport or train station, we can arrange it for you.
Morning Tips:
You can experience a traditional Cantonese morning tea (yum cha) accompanied by your guide if you are willing to set off a little earlier. Inside the tea house, the air is warm with steam and rich with the fragrance of shrimp dumplings and siu mai. The locals are chatting in Cantonese and leisurely browsing newspapers.
