  3. Follow your guide to Yangcao Mountain, one of the highest peaks around Snow Town. Rising 1,235 meters above sea level, it opens up to wide views of the snowy mountains and plains.

Once you reach the top, the view is completely different. Snow-covered mountains and plains stretch out in every direction, with no end in sight. Step onto the viewing platform and take it all in. Nearby, a huge drum-shaped structure rises from the snow. More than 16 meters across, it quickly becomes one of the sights you’ll remember.

Afterward, return to Snow Town. You may choose to visit Dream HomeĀ (optional, at your own expense).

Located in the heart of Snow Town, Dream Home covers about 7,000 square meters. Several traditional wooden houses are scattered across the grounds. In winter, thick snow piles up on their roofs, forming the iconic ā€œsnow mushroomā€Ā shapes.

Walking trails wind through the area, and elevated viewing platforms offer different perspectives of the snowy landscape. You can also see old furniture and farming tools from rural Northeast China. These exhibits offer a glimpse into traditional local life.

  4. Start your guided Harbin tour from Sun Island, a well-known riverside scenic spot in Harbin famous for its natural scenery in all four seasons, as well as its ice and snow culture.

In winter, itĀ transforms intoĀ a venue for large-scale snow sculpture events, showcasing masterpieces crafted by international artists. TheyĀ shape the works from tightly packed snow blocks. Left outdoors in Harbin's freezing temperatures, the sculptures gradually develop a thin layer of ice on the surface, giving them a clear, crystal-like appearance.

Next, head to the Siberian Tiger Park on the north bank of the Songhua River. Home to several hundred Amur tigers, the park provides you with a specially designed sightseeing vehicle to observe these magnificent animals up close in a free-roaming environment. (Note: Certain interactive activities like feeding the tigers may require an additional fee.)

In the evening, head to the world-famous Ice and Snow World.

This is one of Harbin’s most iconic winter ice and snow attractions. It reinvents itself with a brand-new theme every year. Using natural ice from the Songhua River and artificial snow as primary materials, the park features large-scale ice castles, thrilling slides, and architectural clusters of ice sculptures.

After dark, colorful lights illuminate the structures, and the whole park takes on a magical winter glow. It is an absolute highlight of any winter trip to Harbin that you won’t want to miss.

  5. First, visitĀ the landmark ofĀ St. Sophia Cathedral. This brick-and-wood Orthodox church was originally a military chapel for the Russian Imperial Army. Today, it serves as the Harbin Architectural Art Museum.

Admire from outside — the striking green onion-shaped dome and cross-shaped layout make it instantly recognizable.Ā While the surrounding square, complete with a fountain and benches, offers a pleasant spot to take a short break.

Next, head to Old Daowai.Ā This area preserves a large number of Chinese Baroque-style buildings constructed in the early 20th century.

This architectural style brings Western Baroque facades together with the traditional Chinese siheyuan (courtyard) layout. From the street, you'll see European-style fronts. Step inside and you’ll find Chinese-style corridors and courtyards. The blendĀ of Eastern and Western elements gives the area its distinctive look.

Finally, head to Jiuzhan Park,Ā sittingĀ on the south bank of the Songhua River, with Sun Island just across the water. The park stretches along the river and boastsĀ a riverside promenade, fitness facilities, and a children’s play area.

You'll find residents walking or exercising along the river. Take a stroll by the water and experience a more everyday side of Harbin.

When the visit is over, your driver will take you to Harbin Taiping International Airport or Harbin West Railway Station. From there, your Harbin adventure comes to a close.
