This private tour from Shanghai with commentary from professional guide to lead you to explore the top highlights of Suzhou: Humble Administrator Garden, Grand Canal, Old Suzhou City, Panmen Gate, Pingjiang Road.
Our local driver will pick you up from your hotel in Shanghai city center area. Drive for about 2 hours to Suzhou.
Firstly, you will go to visit the Humble Administrator Garden. It is a typical ancient Chinese style garden in southern China. In 1509 of the Ming Dynasty, the central government officer Wang Xianchen retreated from politics. After his retirement, he spent 16 years to construct the garden for his later life.
After that, you will pay a visit to one of the ancient China’s greatest engineering projects – Grand Canal. You will take a Chinese style wooden boat to cruise down the canal to enjoy the scenery on the way till your arrival at the center of the Old Suzhou City. During the cruise, you will pass by the Panmen Gate which was originally built in 1351 in the Yuan Dynasty.
Then you will get off the boat and take a walk in along Pingjiang Road and surrounding areas in Old City Area. During your walking, you will meet the well-preserved old style folk houses, shops, the zigzag narrow canals, the local vegetable market, etc.
After the tour finished, our driver will escort you back to hotel in Shanghai.

Great tour! A bus was on time to pick us up from our hotel and drove us to each destination. Noble was our tour guide and he not only provided information on each attraction, but was also able to answer any questions we had (we had a lot!).

I have had a wonderful day trip to Xi'an from Shanghai, all arranged by China Xi'an Tour including hotel pick up and transfer back, flights and lunch. Ms. Grace (travel consultant) was very helpful in arranging the best trip for me and my family in Xi'an. The tour guide, Mr. Joe and the driver too were both very friendly and helpful to us. As we are travelling with 2 young children. Both of them were very patient (i.e. we can't walk too fast, we need to use baby stroller etc). Definitely will recommend them to friends.

The tour guide assign to us was very knowledgeable on the history of the places that we had visited and that was very important to us as this trip was mainly to expose our 2 boys to appreciate the Chinese history.
