After nightfall, Shanghai looks different from during the day. Tonight, you can choose one of two routes based on your interests: stroll along the historic Bund in Puxi or explore the modern skyline in Pudong.
Option 1: Puxi Night Tour - Old Shanghai
Route: Meeting point → The Bund → Huangpu River Cruise → Nanjing Road → Xintiandi → Back to the hotel
Meet your guide at the appointed place at about 07:00 p.m. and then begin your walk along the Bund. Admire the century-old Western-style architectural complex illuminated by golden lights along the waterfront and learn about how Shanghai grew from a treaty port to an international metropolis.
Board a relaxing Huangpu River night cruise and enjoy the classic night view of Shanghai from the water.
As the ship glides slowly, take in the completely different cityscapes on both riverbanks: on one side, the lit buildings of the Bund; on the other, Pudong’s towering skyscrapers shining against the night sky.
After disembarking, wander along the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. See the colorful neon signs and explore department stores, modern brands, and local shops. Also, feel free to look for snacks or souvenirs.
End your evening at Xintiandi, where Shikumen houses sit alongside stylish cafés, restaurants, and boutiques. Have a drink or walk through the longtang lanes before heading back to the hotel.

Lujiazui Financial Center is the first stop of the Pudong night tour, known for its skyscrapers.
Ride one of the world’s fastest elevator up to the 118th-floor observation deck of the Shanghai Tower, China’s tallest building. From above, you can see the Huangpu River meandering through the city with lit buildings on both sides.
Afterward, walk along the riverside promenade, a spot where locals go to unwind after dark. You’ll see the Pudong skyline and the Bund’s old buildings from a different angle, with the river breeze blowing past.
Finally, take a local ferry ride across the Huangpu River to the Bund. Though it takes only 10 minutes, you can see the contrast between the two sides of the river from the water, with the historic Bund and modern Lujiazui skyline.
