- Day 1: Downtown Landmark and Muslim Quarter Food
Your private gourmetĀ guide will pick you up at your city center hotel at 18:00 (from June to August in summer).
Note: If you travelĀ to Xi'an in other seasons, the tour guide will pick you up promptly at 17:00.
Your first stop is the Bell and Drum Tower Square. The Bell Tower is located at the very center of Xi'an downtown areaĀ and is a landmark of this ancient city. Ancient Chinese people used bell and drum towers for timekeeping. The Bell Tower is a three eaved and four cornered attic style building with a history of over 700 years.
As night falls, the clock tower will be illuminated by red and yellow lights. There are many people strolling on the squareĀ and at the same time, you will see many people wearing Hanfu and Tang Dynasty makeup taking photos with the Bell Tower. Bell Tower Square It takes 5 minutes to walk from the square to Huimin Street. This is not a single street, but a Hui community consisting of Beiyuanmen, Xiyangshi, Dapiyuan and others. For tourists who love food and multiculturalism, Muslim QuarterĀ is definitely a must visit place. There are some temple buildings in the block that blend Chinese temples with Islamic style.
Biang Biang Noodles in the Muslim Quarter In the evening, red lanterns and antique signboardsĀ illuminate the streets brilliantly. The air is filled with the aroma of barbecue skewers and Pita bread soaked in Lamb Soup. You can taste nearly 100 kinds of authentic snacksĀ (at your own expense), such as steamed rice cakes, soup dumplings, Liangpi; the street isĀ a veritable "gourmet paradise". In addition to food, you can also find handicrafts such as shadow puppets, paper cuttings, cloisonne, etc.
After the tour ends, around 20:00, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.
