Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Buddhist Atmosphere and Clay Warriors
At the appointed time in the morning, your private Xian guide will pick you up at your hotel in the city center. Drive for approximately 1.5 hours to Famen Temple. This highly revered Buddhist holy site has a history of over 1,700 years. It is very famous due to its finger bone relic of Shakyamuni, well preserved in the True Body Pagoda.
Follow your guide to explore the oldest, largest and highest-ranked pagoda underground chamber in the world and even appreciate some cultural relics that have been stored in their original state. Along the Buddha Light Avenue, admire the 148-meter-tall landmark of Famen Temple named the Pagoda of the Joined Palms.
Famen Temple near Xian After experiencing the solemn Buddhist atmosphere, enjoy a delicious lunch. The tour guide will offer recommendations based on your taste preferences. The cost of the lunch is at your own expense.
In the afternoon, drive back to Xi'an urban area and stop along the way at Hanyang Mausoleum to visit. This is the resting place of the fourth emperor of the Western Han Dynasty and his empress. As you enter the underground tomb chamber, you will see many clay figurines without arms, about 60 centimeters tall. Your guide will explain to you some unique funeral customs of that era.
After the visit, continue to drive you back to your hotel. This is the end of your one-day Xian side trip.
