After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, the tour guide will greet you in the hotel lobby. Today’s tour in Xi’an starts at the World Heritage Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Known as one of the world’s top ten ancient tomb treasures, it has been visited by over 200 foreign heads of state and government.
Your private tour guide will take you to explore the museum for 2-2.5 hours. You will see thousands of life-sized clay soldiers and horses. You will definitely be attracted by the details of their expressions, clothing, and weapons. Your knowledgeable guide will share with you the story of its construction and the historical deeds of the owner of the Terracotta Army – Qin Shi Huang.
After the Terracotta Warriors tour, you’ll be transferred to a terracotta figurine factoryĀ to understand the production process of Terracotta Warriors. If you are interested, you can make your mini clay under the guidance of a skilled craftsman (for an additional fee).
Returning to downtown Xian after lunch, immerse yourself in Xian history by exploring the Xian City Wall, a military defensive system in old times. This 600-year-old architectural marvel is one of the largest and most well-preserved city walls in China. Optional: rent a bike on the top of the wall and enjoy panoramic views of the city.
Last, go to admire the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, 13 existing floors, 43.4 meters high (142.4 ft). Along with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, it is an important landmark from the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Learn about its historical story and the legacy of Buddhist architectural art from your informative tour guide. (Please note: The Small Wild Goose Pagoda is closed on Tuesdays)
At the end of the one-day tour in Xian, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel at around 5:30 PM.
