Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Xi’anXi’an Museum & Small Wild Goose Pagoda
Welcome to this 3-day Xian education tour for history exploration. Upon arrival, your English-speaking guide will pick you up at the airport or train station, holding a welcome board “China Xian Tour” and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. You are suggested to arrive before noon at 12 o'clock.
In the afternoon, you will be guided to learn about the history of this ancient city. The public was first allowed to enter Xi'an Museum when it opened in 2007. The museum has made it possible for many visitors to learn about Xi'an's history as the capital city of thirteen different dynasties. The museum holds 130000 historical artifacts which include pottery, bronze, jade, Buddhist stone carvings, calligraphy and paintings from different time periods.
Tri-colored glazed pottery of the Tang Dynasty in Xian Museum In the same scenic area, you can explore historical sites which include Small Wild Goose Pagoda, the sister of the landmark of Xi'an - Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the peaceful atmosphere of classical gardens.
After the visit, you will be sent back to the hotel. In the evening, you can visit Tang Dynasty Ever-Bright City on your own. Here, you can immerse yourself in the culture of the prosperous Tang Dynasty (618-907). Through magnificent Tang style architecture, dazzling lighting and rich cultural performances, this pedestrian street reproduces the bustling scene of the Tang Dynasty.
- Day 2: Xian Classic ExplorationTerracotta Warriors and Horses, Ancient City Wall, Bell Tower Square, Huimin Street
At 08:30 am, you guide will pick you up from the hotel lobby to begin the tour. In an hour, you will reach the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. The museum which people call "the Eighth Wonders of the World" displays a sculpture collection that represents one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century. You will find it difficult to find two terracotta figures that have the same appearance, the same hairstyle, or any other details. Your guide will provide you with extensive knowledge about the background information during your 3-hour visit.
Nearby, if interested, you can get a short lesson on how terracotta figures are made and then you will make a mini terracotta warrior with the help of the staff (optional). Your artwork can be taken home as a souvenir.
Make a Mini Terracotta Warrior After lunch, drive you back to the city center to admire Xi’an City Wall, which stands as a magnificent historical monument that dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The wall extends 8.5 miles which creates an exceptional historical experience. You will ascend the wall for panoramic views of the city or explore its watchtowers and gates. People frequently choose to rent bikes for a unique experience and you can optionally rent one.
After that, transfer you to take photos at the city center - Bell and Drum Tower Square. A more 5-minute walk takes you to a food paradise, Huimin Street. There are famous snacks from all over Xi’an, such as Roujiamo, Liangpi, Mutton/Beef and Bread Pieces in Soup, Soup Dumplings, Biangbiang Noodles. Besides, you can experience Muslim culture and taste sizzling beef and mutton skewers. After the trip is over, you will be escorted back to the hotel.
Bike Riding on the Xian City Wall - Day 3: Xian DepartureBig Wild Goose Pagoda
This morning, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a landmark building of Xi'an. Master Xuanzang built the structure in 652 AD to store Buddhist scriptures and statues which he had returned from India. The pagoda is a seven storey square brick tower within Daci'en Temple and you have the chance to pay extra for access to the tower’s highest point where you can view all of downtown city. The Daci'en Temple features a peaceful space so you can take leisurely walks and relax your mind.
After the visit, it’s time to say goodbye to Xi’an and your tour guide. This is the end of your 3-day tour in Xian. Your driver will send you to the airport or railway station for departure. Safe travels.
