Music Fountain at North Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda - Day 2: Terracotta Army Tour in XianVisit the World Heritage Sites of Xi'an
Start your day with a good breakfast at the hotel. After that, we are going to explore the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's definitely the best part during your Xi'an trip. The site has 3 pits holding over 8,000 life-size clay figures of warriors, horses, and chariots. During our two and a half hours there, you'll hear fascinating insights, like who made it and why. You'll also get a quick overview of what China's first emperor did and fascinating facts about China's history.
Terracotta Warriors and Horses In the afternoon, when lunch is over, we'll head back into Xi'an. There, we'll visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and it is another UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's an old, but well-maintained building that's a special place for Buddhists. Xuanzang, who was a translator and traveler, brought Buddhist scriptures and statues from India back during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and the pagoda was built to store them.
After that, go explore the Ancient City Wall - it's the biggest and most well-preserved city wall you can discover in China. They built it way back in the Ming Dynasty, and it seriously shows off Xi'an's rich past. You can walk on top of the wall and see an awesome view of the whole city. Or, if you want, you can rent a bike and ride around on the wall. Please note, the bike rental costs extra.
