Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in downtown Xi'an to start your one-day spring tour of Xi'an.
The first stop is Qinglong Temple, one of Xi’an’s popular spots for cherry blossom viewing in spring. The pink cherry blossoms and the traditional temple complement each other, making it a good place for strolling and taking photos.
The flowering period is usually from March to April, but the exact timing depends on the weather that year. If you visit during peak bloom, it is recommended to go on a weekday to avoid the larger crowds on weekends and public holidays.
Head to the Daci’en Temple and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Walk around the temple and learn about the stories between the pagoda and the monk Xuanzang, the translation of Buddhist scriptures, and Buddhism during the Tang Dynasty. You will experience a different atmosphere from that at the Qinglong Temple.
Big Wild Goose Pagoda in spring Ascend the Ancient City Wall at Yongning Gate. On a clear spring day, walk or cycle along the city wall and enjoy the contrasting cityscape on both sides from above. There's no need to complete the entire 13.7-km route. Just set aside about 1.5 hours for a leisurely exploration along a section of the wall.
Leave the city wall and walk to nearby Shuyuanmen Cultural Street, where you’ll find small shops selling calligraphy, seals, traditional stationery and handicrafts. Stroll along the old street or delve into the nearby alleys. If you feel tired, stop at a café for a short break.
