1. Day 1: Arrival in Tengchong, Heshun Old Town
   Glimpse Heshun's History, Watch Shadow Puppetry, and Enjoy Hot Springs

   Welcome to Tengchong for a 3-day Yunnan tour. Upon arrival, your private tour guide and driver will pick you up at the airport and then take you to the hotel in Heshun Ancient Town.

   After check-in, you can stroll along the cobblestone streets. Every step leads you to find pieces of history. These roads used to be trade routes for merchants and scholars, so that you can see local traditions and foreign influences.

   Visiting the Heshun Museum will be the first formal itinerary of your trip. Local cultural relics and old photos are displayed in the museum. Their existence also pieced together the development process of Heshun's past little by little. Among them, the exhibition area about overseas Chinese immigrants is particularly interesting. It reveals how the returnees have shaped the modern face of Heshun.

   

   Next, you can go to the Shadow Play Museum to see the live shadow play performance. The performer controls the finely carved leather doll behind the curtain. Together with music, hundreds of years-old stories will be vividly presented to the audience once again.

   Optional: Take a boat tour of the Heshun River. During the trip you can enjoy the beauty of ancient bridges and see the traditional riverside life. This sailing allows you to enjoy the town from a peaceful perspective.

   End the day with a relaxing hot spring bath at your hotel. The mineral-rich waters are good for relieving fatigue and improving circulation.

2. Day 2: Tengchong's Nature
   Explore Volcanic Wetlands and Geothermal Wonders

   After breakfast, enjoy more time in Heshun Ancient Town. Stroll in the quiet alleys, or visit small shops and local temples. In fact, you can also walk into the old teahouses on the street, where residents chat, play chess and taste Pu'er tea. Their daily life is composed of these small fragments.

   Browse handcrafted souvenirs, like hand-painted lanterns or carved wood pieces. Many reflect Tengchong folklore and traditional artisan techniques.

   In the afternoon, we’ll go to Beihai Wetland. Here we can see Qinghai and Beihai lakes. These landscapes are all formed by volcanic lava barriers. The wetland is home to a wide variety of birds, fish and plants, so many photography enthusiasts and birdwatchers would come here. Take a wooden boat to explore the wetland. Glide across reflective waters, see seasonal water lilies, and hear birds singing.

   

   Visit the Geothermal Scenic Area, featuring over 80 hot springs, fumaroles, and mud pools. Highlights include Thermal Sea, Pearl Spring, Big Boiling Pot, and Crystal Palace. Pearl Spring’s blue water and Big Boiling Pot’s steam show the region’s geothermal power. Return to your hotel for a hot spring bath. Evening soaks are calming as the sun paints the town in warm hues.

3. Day 3: Tengchong Departure

   Today marks the end of your Yunnan trip to Tengchong. After a leisurely breakfast, pack your belongings and check out of your hotel. Your private driver will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey. Thank you for choosing China Xian Tour.
