4 Days Kunming & Luoping Canola Flower Photography Tour in Spring

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kunming

   Kunming, also known as “Spring City”, is the capital of Yunnan Province. Upon arrival, the local guide and driver will transfer you to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city.

   Recommended activities for your free time: Visit some historical sites in the city center, such as the Yuantong Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Kunming. Wander through the Green Lake Garden to enjoy the clear lake, lush trees, and old buildings with glazed tiles. Or taste Yunnan cuisine at local markets and restaurants.

2. Day 2: Stone Forest to Luoping Canola Fields Tour
   Explore Strange Stones and Beautiful Canola Flower Terraces

   After breakfast, start today’s Kunming tour from Stone Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring karst formations. Wander along paths and bridges to observe rocks in various shapes and sizes. Admire the Greater Stone Forest Scenic Area consisting of dense stone peaks. Explore the scenery of Lesser Stone Forest, which consists of stone pillars, ponds, and lawns. Also learn about the culture and history of the local Sani people, a branch of the Yi ethnic group.

   

   Continue driving to Luoping, famous for its canola flower fields. Arrive at Niujie, a village surrounded by magnificent hills and lush trees. There are many terraced fields full of canola flowers, forming a charming picture with mountains and streams. Walk along the trails to take photos of the golden flowers and local farmers at work.

3. Day 3: Luoping Photography Tour
   Capture a Variety of Natural Landscapes

   Start today’s photography tour in Luoping from Jinji Hills, where numerous conical peaks are surrounded by canola flowers. Wake up early to capture the magnificent sunrise and sea of clouds. Standing at the top of the mountain, you can take pictures of the stunning scene formed by the blooming canola flowers and green peaks. Also visit the traditional wooden dwellings of the Buyi people, another branch of the Yi ethnic group.

   Later move to the Nine Dragon Waterfalls in various shapes and sizes. Take the cable car to the viewing platform to overlook the panoramic view of the waterfalls and the golden fields of canola flowers in the distance. Take a bamboo raft and capture the beauty of the waterfall from different locations.

   On the way back to Luoping, pass by Hundreds of Thousands of Mountains. It is breathtaking to see fields of canola flowers on the rolling hills. You can take more photos of golden flowers and beautiful sunsets from the viewpoints.

4. Day 4: Kunming Departure

   The 4-day Kunming and Luoping tour is over. After breakfast, drive back to Kunming. Your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport to your next destination.
