Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Shangri-La Arrival, Feilaisi Scenic Area Tour
   Explore Buddhist Culture and Enjoy Panoramic Views of Snow Mountains

   Upon arrival in Shangri-La, the local driver and guide will pick you up at the airport. Afterwards, proceed for a visit to Dongzhulin Monastery, one of the earliest birthplaces of Tibetan Buddhism in western Yunnan. These exquisite temples enshrine Buddhist statues such as Shakyamuni Buddha and Guanyin. And admire precious artifacts, including Buddhist murals, thangkas, and stupas.

   

   Drive along the Lancang River and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Baima Snow Mountain. Stop at the viewpoint to capture the magnificent snow mountains, sea of clouds, and spruce forests.

   Continue driving to Feilai Temple Scenic Area, a great place to see the panoramic views of Meili Snow Mountain. After checking in at the nearby hotel, proceed to the viewpoint and marvel at the stunning sunset over the Meili Snow Mountain. Also, witness the thirteen Tibetan pagodas that symbolize the thirteen peaks of the Meili range.

2. Day 2: Feilaisi to Yubeng Village Hiking Tour
   Breathtaking Mountain Views and Beautiful Yubeng Village

   Wake up early to watch the sunrise over Meili Snow Mountain from the Feilaisi Observation Deck. You will immerse in the stunning view of the snow mountain turning golden in the sunlight.

   

   Drive to Xidang Spring, which is the starting point of the Yupeng trekking tour. Take a tourist SUV through the muddy roads to reach the Upper Yubeng Village at the foot of the Meili Snow Mountain.

   Upper Yubeng village is surrounded by lush forests and snow-capped peaks. Wander along the village path to see Kawagebo Peak in the distance, which is the summit of the Meili Snow Mountain. Standing on a higher spot, you can enjoy the vivid picture of the magnificent mountains and the peaceful village.

   After checking in the local hotel, you can explore the beautiful views of Upper Yufeng Village on your own. Take a leisurely stroll through the village and interact with the locals to learn about their custom. Or visit the nearby Yubeng Monastery to explore the local history.

3. Day 3: Yubeng Village to Sacred Waterfall Hiking Tour
   Hiking through the Village to Enjoy the Beautiful Scenery

   Before breakfast, witness the beautiful sunrise and immerse in the peaceful countryside morning.

   Then trek from Upper Yupeng Village to the Sacred Waterfall, a sacred site for the Tibetan people. This waterfall is formed by the gathering of melted snow from the majestic Kawagebo Peak. You can make a wish and pray here. Also admire the gushing waterfalls, lush trees and vivid rainbows.

   

   The trekking route to the Sacred Waterfall is about 6 kilometers long and takes about 3 hours. On the way, you can witness various natural landscapes such as the Big Stone, the Sacred Lake, and the Yak Meadow. Observe rare flowers like rhododendrons, azaleas, and orchids.

   After visiting the Sacred Waterfall, hike back to Upper Yubeng Village and then descend to the Lower Yubeng Village. Hike along the trail and cross a wooden bridge over a river. Along the way, you will also enjoy panoramic views of the valley and mountain peaks.

   Finally, reach your guesthouse in Lower Yubeng Village. In the evening, you can explore this village on your own and experience vivid local life.

4. Day 4: Yubeng Village to Ninong Gorge Hiking, Shangri-La Departure
   Experience a Distinctive Adventure

   Today is the last day of the 4-day Yubeng trekking tour. After breakfast, hike from Lower Yubeng Village to Ninong Gorge, a narrow gorge. Here, marvel at the roaring river, lush vegetation, magnificent waterfalls and peculiar rock formations. This less-crowded adventure route will offer an exciting experience for you.

   Your guide and driver will pick you up at Ninong Bridge and transfer you to Shangri-La airport for your departure.

   Good to know: You are expected to arrive in Shangri-La around 18:00, so please consider booking a flight departing after 20:00.
