- Day 1: Welcome to KunmingEthnic Minority Culture and the Panoramic View of Dianchi Lake
Upon arrival in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, the local guide and driver will greet you and escort you to the hotel for check-in.
In the afternoon, visit the Yunnan Nationalities Museum, the largest ethnic-themed museum in China. There are more than 40,000 artifacts that show the customs, festivals, and lifestyles of Yunnanās ethnic groups. Explore the diverse themed exhibitions to see the traditional houses, production tools, and handicrafts of ethnic minorities.
Later, move to Western Hills, located on the west bank of Dianchi Lake. Take a cable car to the top of the hills to admire the panoramic views of Dianchi Lake. And, explore the Dragon Gate to observe the ancient caves, temples, and exquisite stone sculptures.

After breakfast, continue your Kunming tour from Stone Forest, about 80 kilometers from downtown. As a World Heritage-listed site, Stone Forest is famous for its distinctive karst landscape. At the Greater Stone Forest Scenic Area, see dense stone peaks like Sword Peak Pond, Lotus Peak, and Elephant Trunk Hill. Admire the scenic views of stone pillars, ponds, and lawns at the Lesser Stone Forest.
Stone Forest In the afternoon, drive back to Kunming downtown and head to Yuantong Temple. The temple is built on the mountain and constructed in layers. As the oldest temple in Yunnan, Yuantong Temple is home to many well-preserved Buddhist architectures. There are also a large number of Buddhist relics, including scriptures, statues and cliff inscriptions.
Later drive to the Kunming Green Lake Park, located in the center of Kunming. Stand on the bridge to admire the lush trees and crystal lake around you. There are beautiful lotus flowers, which bloom on the wide lake in summer, creating a picturesque scene. Also observe the local people singing, exercising and playing chess at the park.

Stunning Puzhehei Park Upon arrival, take a canoe tour from Pucaotang Pier to Qinglongshan Pier. Along the way, admire the beautiful mountains and sparkling lakes. Also, hike up to Qinglong Mountain to overlook the panoramic view of Puzhehei. Capture the wonderful picture of lakes, peaks, forests and fields.
Next explore Kwan-Yin CaveĀ and the Torch Cave, which are two of the most famous caves in the area. Stroll along the path and observe the stalactites in various forms inside the cave. There are also several clear pools reflecting the colorful stalactites.
Proceed to enjoy the sunset at Xianrendong Village or Puzhehei Village, two typical Yi villages.Ā Under the light of the setting sun, the mountains and the lake become golden, creating a magnificent scenery.

After breakfast, admire the views of Swan Lake in the Puzhehei Scenic Area. Swan Lake is the largest and most beautiful lake in the region, named after the swans that migrate here in winter. You will capture the vivid scenery created by karst hills, blooming lotus flowers, and a variety of birds.
After that, drive to Bamei Village, a Zhuang village surrounded by karst landscapes. Because of the remote location of this village, it is necessary to enter the village by boat through a deep water hole. Upon arrival at Bamei Village, observe local homes and farms to experience traditional Zhuang villager life. Visit the Big Banyan Tree, a symbol of unity and prosperity that is over 400 years old.
