Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Xishuangbanna Arrival
Welcome to our 6-day adventure in Xishuangbanna! When you land, your local driver will send your family from the airport to the well-selected hotel. It will be near the famous Starlight Night Market next to the Lancang-Mekong River.
Check in and enjoy your leisure time to explore the night market. It boasts local Dai-flavor delicacies and handmade crafts. Stroll along the riverbank and take pictures of the illuminated bridges.

Taste Local Delicacies at Gaozhuang Starlight Night Market - Day 2: Xishuangbanna Culture TourDiscover Ancient Garden and Vibrant Cultural Traditions
As we begin to discover Xishuangbanna today, we will head to the oldest park - Manting Park. This park has approximately 1300 years of history and was once the imperial garden of the Dai king of Xishuangbanna! Be impressed by the beautiful Buddhist architecture from golden pagodas to bamboo temples.
Next, you will visit Zongfo Temple. It is one of the oldest temples built in Xishuangbanna, established in 615AD. Zongfo Temple has an individual and magnificent style, including several sections which include the main hall, preceptor hall, tower and monks' dorms. The temple has numerous precious Buddha images and Buddhist relics.
Manting Park & Zongfo Temple After the Dai-style barbecue lunch, you will be transferred to Manzhang Village, a traditional village full of Dai culture, with a history of over 500 years. Your guide will take your family to admire the distinctive bamboo houses on stilts, and experience cultural activities such as paper making from mulberry tree bark and drum playing (optional, at your own expense).

- Day 3: Xishuangbanna Nature TourEnjoy Many Plant Species and Take a Hike in Lush Rainforest
On the third day of your Xishuangbanna tour, we will take you to visit the Tropical Botanical Garden, which houses the largest number of plant species preserved outdoors and exhibited to the public in the world.
Also referred to by locals as Menglun Botanical Garden, it is divided into two sections: the East Zone and the West Zone. The main attractions are in the West Zone, which is composed of several smaller gardens. The East Zone consists of a long stretch of tropical rainforest, ideal for hiking. The garden occupies a large area so it would be better to explore it by taking a sightseeing bus.
In the less-explored East Zone, you will be amazed by the lush and vibrant flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest, including giant bamboo, lianas, epiphytes, ferns, butterflies, birds, and playful monkeys.

Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden - Day 4: Xishuangbanna to Pu’er Tour by VanGet Up Close to Cute Animals and Stay Overnight in a Treehouse-like Hotel
After breakfast, take a scenic drive (2 hours) from Xishuangbanna to Pu'er, a city famous for its tea culture.
En route, we will make a stop at Taiyanghe Forest Park, where your kids will get up close to many cute animals such as red pandas, deer, slow lorises, and rhinos.
The forest coverage of this national forest park is as high as 94.5%. It preserves the largest and most complete South Asian tropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest in China, with extremely high levels of negative oxygen ions. There are nearly 1,000 species of various plants in the park. In addition, a variety of wild animals live here, including bison, green peacocks, macaques, and other protected animals.

- Day 5: Pu’er Tea & Coffee Culture ExperienceVisit Tea and Coffee Farms and Taste Their Flavors
Today we will take you into the world of Pu'er tea. Pu'er tea is a well-known variety of tea in China. Visit a local tea plantation, and you could see how tea is made, from planting, and harvesting to processing and storing. You get to try different types of Pu'er tea, including raw tea, ripe tea, loose tea, and cake tea.
Tea Plantation in Xishuangbanna After lunch, your guide will tell your family all about Yunnan coffee at a local coffee farm. You will learn how coffee beans are grown and harvested as well as Yunnan's many varietals and roasting traditions. You will be able to make and taste your very own cup of coffee through Yunnan coffee and compare its flavor Pu'er tea.
