Gradually, the further days will lead you to the areas of the most breathtaking nature through the itinerary: the pastures of Guisuwang with wildflower meadows and long ridges; and the hidden Naidang Pasture, a quiet mountain plain with round hills.

Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: To Majestic Balagezong Grand Canyon from Shangri-LaDiscover Balagezong’s cliffs, Tibetan villages, awe-inspiring high-altitude landscapes
At your Shangri-La hotel, a driver and a professional tour guide will be there already for you to lead to the Balagezong Grand Canyon entrance. The first village you will see is Qiaotou (桥头村) which will grant you access to the amazing highland landscape with its towering cliffs and profound ravines. The trip of adventure continues and before long you will arrive at Shuizhuang Village (水庄村), which is the best-developed village in this area. You will have your leisure lunchtime here, surrounded by mountain views and traditional Tibetan huts.
Balagezong Grand Canyon The tour continues after lunch with a drive that takes you to several points of great interest: Palm Gorge renowned for its vast wild palm tree areas growing at the foot of the snow-covered plateau; Bala Village, a secluded Tibetan community where ancient customs, colorful prayer flags, and simple wooden homes come together; and finally, the Pagoda, a feature that stands above the valley and gives respectively wonderful views of the mountains around.

At the end of the day, you will be served a simple pre-packed dinner.
Bala Village, a secluded Tibetan community - Day 2: Trek to Guisongwang PastureAlpine Hike through Wildflower Meadows, Forests, Highland Pastures
After breakfast, start a whole day hiking trip to Guisuwang Pasture (归宿旺牧场), which is located at an altitude of about 3400 meters. It is a place where you can feel the tranquility and harmony of nature and forget the troubles of the world for a while. Today's journey covers 11 kilometers and takes about 7 hours.
Your path steadily climbs along mountainous routes bordered by lush forests and expansive hillsides. As you progress, you can appreciate the stunning alpine scenery and vibrant flowers carpeting the slopes in vivid hues. Depending on the season, you might come across flowering rhododendrons, mountain grasses, or fragile highland flowers dancing in the fresh breeze.
You will reach Guisuwang Pasture by around 3:00 PM. Feel free to delve into the surroundings at your own speed: stroll through the rhododendron patches, unwind on the meadows, or venture into the untouched forests that border the pasture. The crisp mountain air and panoramic views create an ideal spot to unwind after the lengthy hike.
Guisuwang Pasture - a secluded highland meadow - Day 3: Hiking to the Peaceful Naidang PastureA Gentle Trek to A Hidden Pasture Surrounded by Green Valleys
After breakfast, pack your belongings and ready to hike to Naidang Pasture (乃当), whose name means “a dwelling place on the plain.” This highland area sits around 3,300 meters high, embraced on all sides by rolling mountains and vibrant grasslands. Today’s hiking distance is 8 kilometers, taking about 5.5 to 6 hours.
The new morning air, the farthest twittering of birds, and the soft light of the sun coming through the trees... keep on walking, and the sight of the valleys around will be more extensive, letting you see the mountain woods and hills rolling. Midway of your trekking tour, a stunning view from the lookout point will be your reward, where photography if one of the activities to do.
Early in the afternoon, you will arrive at Naidang Pasture, a true hidden paradise protected by mountain ridges. The meadow spreads out on a green carpet. You can stroll freely while enjoying this secluded paradise.
Naidang Pasture - Day 4: Back to Shangri-La
Get up in the morning to watch the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains. After breakfast, follow the downhill path from Naidang Pasture to Dayong (达拥). Hiking 13 kilometers, you will see charming scenery: peaks, forests and streams. Arrive around 15:00 in the afternoon and take a vehicle back to your Shangri-La hotel.
