- Day 1: Xiāan to Chengdu by High-Speed TrainGiant Pandas, Historic Alleys & Modern Districts
At around 5:00 a.m., your driver will pick you up from the lobby of your Xi'an hotel and take you to the railway station for an early-morning high-speed train to Chengdu. The journey takes about 3.5ā4 hours.
Tip: Choose an early departure asĀ giant pandas are usually more active in the morning.
Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will meet you at the exit and drive you to theĀ Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Follow your guide to explore the main panda houses. Morning is usually the best time to visit, when you can see pandas eating, playing and sometimes climbing trees. During the visit, you will encounter giant pandas of different ages. If the young panda area is accessible on your visit day, you can watch the cubs wrestling, rolling around, and snacking on bamboo shoots.
Watch cute pandas playing, eating, sleeping Your guide will arrange the visiting route based on the areas open that day. Along the way, listen to your guide sharing information about theĀ living habits of giant pandas andĀ knowledge about their breeding and protection.
Next Stop is Kuanzhai Alley.Ā Stroll through the lanes and courtyards, admire the well-preserved traditional buildings and take a short break in a local eatery to tryĀ some snacks.

If you're leaving Chengdu the same day by high-speed train or plane, let your travel consultant know ahead of time so she can arrange a private transfer to the station or airport.
Warm Tips:Ā The panda base is quite large, so allow about 3 to 4 hours for your visit. Sightseeing buses are available if you don't want to walk too far, but queues may be longer during peak season.
