  1. Welcome to Lanzhou, a city steeped in history and culture! Upon your arrival, our friendly guide and experienced driver will be waiting for you at the airport/train station to provide a warm welcome and transfer you to your comfortable hotel. Take some time to rest and freshen up after your journey. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city at your own pace.

    Option 1: Walk Along the Yellow River

    Lanzhou is known as the "City of Yellow River." Consider strolling along the banks of the majestic Yellow River, also known as the "Mother River of China." The riverside promenade offers scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely walk or a boat ride.

    Option 2: Hike to the White Pagoda Mountain

    If you're up for a little adventure and breathtaking views, hike up to the top of White Pagoda Mountain. The pagoda, also known as Baita Mountain, offers panoramic views of Lanzhou city and the surrounding landscapes. The hike takes around 1-2 hours, and it's worth the effort for the stunning vistas.

  2. After enjoying a delightful breakfast at your hotel, we'll embark on a high-speed train journey to Zhangye City. Upon arrival, our local tour guide will warmly welcome you and take you on a memorable excursion to the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geographical Park.

    It is a natural wonder known for its otherworldly and colorful rock formations. The unique, layered hills have been shaped by millions of years of geological processes, creating a breathtaking palette of colors.   3. Today, we'll begin our day with a visit to the awe-inspiring Giant Buddha Temple, which houses an impressive reclining Buddha statue. The temple complex offers an insight into the region's Buddhist heritage and architecture.

    Afterwards, we'll set out on a picturesque 2.5-hour drive to Jiayuguan City, an essential stop on the ancient Silk Road. Upon arrival, we'll check into our hotel and then embark on a historical journey through the iconic Jiayuguan Pass, an ancient fortress and crucial outpost of the Great Wall. Learn about the strategic significance of this fortification and marvel at the panoramic views from the walls.

    Next, we'll visit the Great Wall Museum, which exhibits historical artifacts and informative displays about the Great Wall's construction and cultural impact. Our exploration continues with a visit to the Jiayuguan Fort, a fascinating military structure that guarded the western end of the Great Wall.

    If time permits, we'll also visit the Overhanging Wall, an architectural marvel with its impressive design clinging to the cliffside.

  4. Today's journey takes us from Jiayuguan to Dunhuang, another significant stop on the ancient Silk Road. On our way, we'll make a special stop at the Yulin Grottoes, a lesser-known but remarkable site featuring a series of ancient caves adorned with stunning Buddhist sculptures and murals. Explore three special caves, including No. 2, No. 3, and No. 25, each offering unique insights into ancient art and architecture.

    After arriving in Dunhuang, we'll check into a comfortable local hotel. In the evening, you have the option to visit the lively Shazhou Night Market, a bustling hub of local flavors and vibrant cultural experiences.

  5. Today promises to be a day of wonder as we visit the renowned Mogao Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of China's most important cultural treasures. These ancient caves are adorned with exquisite Buddhist art, sculptures, and murals, dating back over a millennium.

    Before exploring the grottoes, we'll visit the Mogao Grottoes Digital Exhibition Center, where you can learn about the history and significance of this magnificent site.

    In the afternoon, we'll venture to the enchanting Echoing Sand Mountains, where you can witness the mystical phenomenon of the sand dunes "singing" when the wind blows. Enjoy the serene ambiance as we explore Crescent Lake, an oasis nestled among the dunes, providing a striking contrast to the surrounding desert landscape.
