Fuxi Temple in Tianshui, Gansu Province is dedicated the first mythical emperor of China and the ancestor of all Chinese people, Fuxi. Itās also known as Taihao Palace or Renzhong Temple. It was constructed during Ming Dynasty with a magnificent architectural style resembling a palace.

The Grand Complex
Fuxi Temple has numerous courts and four compounds. There are about 76 buildings in total, including the main gate, Congenital Temple, the instrumental gate, Taiji Temple, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Laihe Hall. It is the country’s largest architectural complex worshipping Fuxi.
The Congenital Temple
See the monumental statue of Fuxi inside the Congenital Temple, the main building at Fuxi Temple. On its ceiling, youāll see the great invention of Fuxi, the Taiji Eight Diagrams and the 64 hexagrams.
Ancient Trees
There were 64 ancient cypresses planted on the 64 points of the diagram on the temple ground. Some of the remaining ones today have stood for over a millennium, adding to the spiritual ambiance at Fuxi Temple.
Tianshui Museum
Tianshui Museum is located inside Fuxi Temple scenic area. It is dedicated to preserving local history through its collection of over 40,000 historical artifacts. Best Time to Visit Fuxi Temple
The best time to travel to Gansu along the Silk Road and visit Fuxi Temple is during the months of September, October, and November. The autumn weather in Tianshui is nice with fewer crowds. Another good time to visit the temple is on Fuxiās birthday so you get to witness the festive occasion and fully experience local culture.
How to Get to Fuxi Temple
From downtown Tianshui: Simply walk southward along the street adjacent to Central Square, and youāll find yourself at the entrance of Fuxi temple.
From the airport: From Tianshui Maijishan Airport, you can either take the airport shuttle bus or one of city buses NO. 1, 5, 8, 16, 35, 58, and 59 to downtown Tianshui. From there, take a short walk or a taxi to the temple.
From train stations: From either Tianshui Railway Station or Tianshui South Railway Station, take one of the city buses NO. 1, 5, 8, 16, 35, 58, and 59 to the downtown area. Then walk or take a taxi to the temple.
From Maijishan Grottoes:Ā Maijishan Grottoes is about 28 miles (45 kilometers) away. The easiest way to get to Fuxi Temple is by taking a taxi or hiring a private driver.
