Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrival in Wuyi Mountain
Welcome to Mount Wuyi! Upon arrival, our driver will pick you up at the airport/railway station and drive about half an hour to the hotel in Mount Wuyi Scenic Area.
As a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Fujian Province, Wuyishan Mountain boasts beautiful natural scenery and rich tea culture. It is characterized by red sandstone peaks, winding rivers, and lush tea gardens (producing the fragrant Dahongpao tea). You will get a lot on the following Wuyishan tour.
- Day 2: Mt. Wuyi Exploration
After breakfast, itās time for you to indulge yourself in the essence of Wuyi Mountains.
Youāll first climb up the Heavenly Tour Peak (Tianyou Peak), where you can get to the observation deck to enjoy a stunning bird's-eye view of the red Danxia mountains and flowing rivers. If you are lucky, youāll get a rare chance to see the sea of clouds turn the landscape into a fairyland.
This afternoon, 1.5 hours of bamboo raft riding will take you to float down the Nine-bend Stream. During the sailing, you can sit back leisurely, treat your eyes with peaceful natural beauty, and encounter local hanging boat coffins on the cliff. After the bamboo rafting, make a visit to the Wuyi Palace, the most time-honored Taoist temple at Wuyi Mountain, which can date back to the Song Dynasty.
Next, stroll the nearby Song Street lined with many old-fashioned structures of Song Dynasty styles that are hidden among the lush mountains andaĀ water wonderland. After the visit, be escorted back to your hotel at Wuyi Mountain. Have a good sleep!
Take a bamboo raft drifting on the Jiuqu (Nine-bend) Stream Optional Evening Activity: Impression Da Hong Pao ShowĀ (19:20-20:40)
Directed by the famous director Zhang Yimou, the show is a large-scale live performance that perfectly combines the background of Wuyi Mountain and rivers. The show will introduce you to local interesting tea culture and offer you a charming night view of Mt. Wuyi.
- Day 3: Departure from Wuyishan
After breakfast, experience passing the narrow path of the Yixiantian Scenic Area. Itās fun to challenge the narrowest part of the area, which is only 30-40cm. Next, walk to theĀ Tiger Roaring Rock where you will be amazed by the sound when the wind goes through the cave. Visit the Dahongpao Scenic Area, leisurely stroll on the fields of the world-renowned Dahongpao tea, and admire the six-seed Dahongpao tea trees of over 340 years old. Then hike to the Water Curtain CaveĀ to appreciate the fancy waterfalls pouring from a height of over 100m.
After that, head to Xiamei Ancient Village, located at the foot of Mount Wuyi. This is a well preserved village from the Qing Dynasty, with a history of 300 years, known as the starting point of the "Wanli (Ten Thousand Li) Tea Road". In 1730 AD, China's Dahongpao tea began to be shipped to overseas countries in Central Asia and Europe. Here, your guide will take you to admire the intricately carved elegant brick houses, tea houses, and winding stone paved alleys. This peaceful village is surrounded by tea fields and clear streams, allowing people to truly understand the history of China's tea trade.
