Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Xi'an Huxian County Exploration
At 9:00 AM, your English-speaking guide will meet you in the hotel lobby. Then drive out of Xi'an toward the countryside, where farmland and villages gradually replace the urban landscape.
If time and road conditions allow, your guide and driver may stop at a suitable spot along the way for photos of the countryside.
Once you arrive, follow your guide through the village lanes, passing local homes and farmlandĀ and seeing how people go about their daily lives in the countryside.
Along the way, your guide will point out small details you might otherwise overlook and talk about how local families live today, as well as the changes the village has seen over the past few decades. It is a side of Xi'an that feels very different from the city's better-known historical attractions.
Huxian Peasant Painting Next, learn about the region's famous Huxian Peasant Paintings, a local folk-art tradition that developed in the 1950sĀ with the subjects often from rural life, including farming, harvests, festivals, and family activities. Bright colors, free-form compositions, and exaggerated figures give the paintings distinctive style.
After that, take more time to explore the village and nearby countryside. The tour highlights a hands-on workshop with a local instructor where you'll create your own Huxian-style painting.
After the activity, your guide and driver will take you back to your hotel in Xi'an.
