Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Xi'an to Hukou Waterfall by Private Vehicle
At the agreed time in the morning, your private tour guide will pick you up at your hotel. Along the 3.5-4 hours drive to Hukou Waterfall, the guide will tell you some interesting facts about the world's largest yellow waterfall.
Upon arrival, transfer to the shuttle bus to get even closer to the waterfall. Youāll see the river plunging down a steep cliff dozens of meters highĀ āĀ a truly spectacular sight. As the Yellow River rushes through this section, its channel suddenly narrows from 300 meters to just about 50 meters.
Hukou Waterfall - the world's largest yellow waterfall The raging water then flows downstream along aĀ waterway roughly five kilometers long, as if it isĀ being poured into the mouth of a giant teapot. This is how the waterfall got its name.
If you're lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, you can clearly photograph a rainbow over the waterfall due to the refraction of sunlight. During the period of July and August, the heavier mist makes rainbows appear more frequently.

There's a lot of mist near the waterfall, so we recommend a disposable raincoat to avoid getting wet or splashed with muddy yellow water. Non-slip shoes are also essential.
Drones are not allowed in the scenic area without permission. If you need to fly one, your guide can help notify the park authorities in advance.
